The latest teaser for Mew-Genics, the upcoming game for iOS and other platforms from Team Meat (a.k.a. Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, creators of Super Meat Boy), reveals that the game will feature mail. This mail seems to vary wildly, as per examples in the image that say things like “Um, so yeah I sory I made sick on you last…” and “Here's a dollar now get a rat to gnaw…”, and the description given in the blog post:
The mail in Mew-genics is an exciting thing.. you never know what you might get! maybe it will be an invitation to the next Cat Fight? maybe your children sent you a dollar bill… could be a notice of violation from the county about the smell, or more importantly your next SSI check!
either way, the mail is vital. it keeps you up to date on all what all your friends (and enemies) are up to, gets you into many upcoming contests and even drops some knowledge into that little brain of yours in form of vital cat facts!
Most of this mail – like the “vital cat facts” and invitations to or adverts for various competitions like the cat fights and cat shows – looks like it'll be from in-game characters, but it seems plausible that players will be able to send this mail to each other. Despite the many weeks of teasers, we still know very little about what form the game will take, so it's not clear whether there'll be a multiplayer component, but it seems to make sense that players will be able to pitch their cats against each other and send each other messages to brag about wins.
