As everyone knows by now, much of THQ's assets were divvied up and sold to the highest bidders at an auction that took place in New York City earlier today. Though for whatever reason, no one expressed any interest in the Darksiders IP, nor Vigil, the studio behind the game.
We just re-posted a heartfelt good-bye letter from Virgil's now former lead designer, which seemed to mark the unofficial end of the studio and their key franchise. But as it turns out, someone out there might be interested in seeing Darksiders live on after-all.
And that someone is Atsushi Inaba, executive director and producer at Platinum Games. Who expressed his interest in purchasing the game, via Twitter.
The tweet, which Polygon translated, is as follows:
"Oh man in THQ's big sale it looks like nobody's bought Darksiders … I'd love to buy that (if it was cheap)."
No word yet if Platinum has made a formal offer yet.
