Sony has announced another giveaway for its digital games, this time for PlayStation Mobile rather than the likes of PlayStation Plus and the PlayStation Store. Every week for the next six, Sony will make one PlayStation Mobile game free to download for your Vita or PlayStation Certified smartphone or tablet. Each will only be free for that one week, so you'll have to keep coming back if you want to get each one.
As a commenter wryly points out, the point of the promotion is clearly to get people to acknowledge PlayStation Mobile even exists, but let's not be too cynical just yet.
The first game up is Samurai Beatdown from Beatnik Games, a “fast-paced, side-scrolling slash-em-up”. It looks pretty nice, and is apparently all about rhythm, so sounds like it could be fun too. And hey, it's free.
The deal seems to be available in the UK as well as the US, but I'm not sure if it'll always be the same game, though it is in this case. At my last count on my Vita, we've only got 42 PlayStation Mobile games to choose from.
Samurai Beatdown will be free until next Wednesday, when a new game will replace it. We should know on Tuesday which one will be next, so check back here then to find out.
