Square Enix has put up a new teaser for an upcoming Final Fantasy game for iOS that will be announced on Thursday, called Final Fantasy: All The Bravest. At first glance it appears to be just another port of a Super Famicom/Super NES-era release, which is par for the course from the publisher.
But a closer look reveals much more. Initially, some believed it to be a port of either Final Fantasy 5 or 6. Which makes sense because the sprites are reminiscent of both games. But that's the thing; on the left you have behemoths from FF VI, but the party sprites on the right are from FF V.
So the most popular theory is that it's a game that combines elements from both of those Final Fantasies, and perhaps others. Which is not the most original idea from Square Enix, which anyone familiar with Dissidia Final Fantasy can attest already.
But if this is a crossover title that retains all the source material's sprites… that's something kinda different. If that is indeed the case, of course. Guess we'll all find out on the 17th.
