Have you ever wondered what Pokémon would look like, if it were given highly detailed—nay, realistic!—visuals, such as those from Mass Effect? Pokémon X and Y may not sport these visuals, but maybe game in 10 years might.
Well, environmental artist Evan Liaw had the thought to render a Pokécenter from Pokémon in the style of Mass Effect using the Unreal Development Kit (UDK). The results are fairly spectacular. He put the images up on his personal portfolio website, which you can view here.

He combined the aesthetics of the Japanese monster-catching game with that of BioWare's sci-fi epic to create a highly detailed environment filled with panels, Pokéball logos. There's even a little lab for where the Pokémon are treated for their pains, replete with what looks like an MRI machine. The sport of Pokémon battles can be fairly brutal.
I can only imagine what any of the Pokémon would look like if rendered realistically.
