It's a God of War: Ascension-filled week, hasn't it? Just a few days ago, the game's multiplayer beta opened up for PlayStation Plus members; after that, Sony released a new video in the title's "Unchained" video documentaries, and the next day, Sony announces that there will be a God of War: Ascension-themed DualShock 3.
To put a cap on the week's God of War news, Sony has once again released a new video in the Unchained video series and this one, called "A Long Tech Journey," shows us just that — the technology powering the franchise's first foray into multiplayer.
Watch as various team members of Sony Santa Monica weigh in on the difficulties and expectations they had in creating the competitive multiplayer mode for Ascension.
What's interesting here is how the studio talks about how they compensate for hit-detection going through various channels to give it a seamless feel. While the actual video series is light on gameplay footage, it gives fans an in-depth look at the creative process and how important the mulitplayer mode is for the team.
For those in the beta, what are your thoughts on it so far? Is it a worthy addition to the franchise or you don't see it taking off?
God of War: Ascension is set for a March 12 release exclusively for the PS3.
Thanks, AGB
