Klei Entertainment has released a new update for their survival game, Don't Starve, which remains in development but is playable as an early access beta for anyone who pre-orders it on Steam.
Best known for their work on Shank and the recently released Mark of the Ninja, Klei has since hopped onto the development of a new survival-themed game in which players must attempt to survive for as long as possible. Players must hunt for resources, chop down wood, build campfires, and literally live off the wild while fending off potential dangers. Bear Grylls would be proud.
The new update sees the addition of new functionality to the shovel, which allows you to use it to remove and relocate the earth beneath your feet. Klei posted details about the update on the official forum.
"This update adds the ability to dig up ground types using the shovel, revealing the bare dirt below. This results in a turf object, that can be placed down on bare dirt tiles. This is largely a cosmetic feature for the time being, but will probably become less so as we start to make tile types matter more."
