As Final Fantasy XIV enters its newest incarnation as a completely remade game as "A Realm Reborn", Square Enix has opened the game's beta registration sign-ups for gamers on both the PC and PlayStation 3.
The beta announcement comes with the release of a new prologue video of the game, which you can see below the fold.
Players keen on helping out with the development of the reborn MMORPG are encouraged to sign up on either the North American site or the European site, depending on their locale.
The sign-up process notes that players who were selected to test the Windows version of the game despite signing up for the PS3 needn't worry, as their registration will be reconsidered to test the console version in this latest round of testing.
"Players who met the Legacy campaign requirements can participate in the beta test starting from phase 1 and are not required to apply. However, we ask players who wish to participate in the PlayStation 3 beta test to apply for it."
"If you applied to be a PlayStation 3 beta tester for FFXIV Version 1.0 and were selected to test the Windows version instead, you need not apply again to test the PS3 version-your original application will be reconsidered when we start selecting PS3 testers. However, if you wish to be considered as a Windows PC tester, we ask that you apply specifically for that."
Players who own copies of Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3 are more likely to be considered for the beta test, so be sure to include your code for priority access to the PS3 beta on the sign-up form.
