Crysis 3 will not be headed for the Wii U, despite there being a possibility when the game was announced last year. Studio head Cervat Yerli called it a business decision, stating a lack of "business drive" between Nintendo, EA, and Crytek.
"It's a purely business decision," he said, speaking to Digital Spy. "I'd love to see it on Wii U, but what I love to see and what gets done at the end of the day are two different things. Even so, I could initiate it but someone has to sell it, right?"
Yerli reiterated that the decision was purely business, and that as the game's publisher, EA saw little sense in making the game available for the Wii U.
"We can't publish ourselves, and that's the bottom line," he said.
This revelation follows 4A Studios' announcement that they will not be developing Metro: Last Light for the Wii U due to the console's hardware limitations. The latest news is just another blow towards the Wii U's credibility as a 'core' gaming console.
Crysis 3 is bound for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 early this year.
