Xbox One X Is The Fastest Pre-Ordered Xbox To Date

August 26, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

Microsoft’s comeback?

I’m sure you’ve seen the news all around the gaming community regarding Xbox One X pre-orders – it’s nearly sold out everywhere, and if it isn’t sold out yet it probably will be very soon. The momentum is ridiculous fast-paced, so much so that Microsoft has been pretty surprised just how well it’s going.

Posting on Xbox Wire, Microsoft’s Mike Nichols revealed that the Xbox One X has become the fastest pre-ordered Xbox console, ever- including, yes, the Xbox 360 and Xbox One (which did very well early on, remember), too.

‘Within just a few days, we saw record-setting sell-out times and are currently sold out in many countries around the world.

You, our biggest fans, have pre-ordered more Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition consoles in the first five days than any Xbox ever.’

What’s strange to me is that it seems that console being sold out seems like it’s been a trend of late (*looks at Nintendo). While I don’t want to detract from the brilliance of Microsoft’s console it does seem like a possibility that Microsoft is purposefully releasing a smaller amount of stock. Let’s remember that Microsoft is a huge company which has access to powerful prediction resources – surely they would’ve predicted this? Especially considering the company’s confidence in the console has been a hot topic since E3.

Maybe I’m just being too much of a skeptic on this. Thoughts? The Xbox One X itself is due to launch on November 7.
