Sony tweeted a very mysterious gif yesterday via their PlayStation Europe account, teasing a possible upcoming announcement. The gif depicts what seems like a rectangular box covered by a red carpet, what could it be?

All over the twitter page users have been debating the likely hood of the rectangular box, could it be a Vita 2? Or just another PlayStation color.
Some users at N4G even managed to narrow down what the possibilities could be.

Either way, I’m sure it will be something a little bit more important than a new PlayStation color, especially considering we are in the middle of Gamescom and news has been dominated by Microsoft’s Xbox One X of late.
We should hear something about the teaser during either Sony’s media briefing during Paris Games Week in October, or PlayStation Experience in December.
