Originally released for PC and Xbox One, The Solus Project will be bringing its cosmic flavoured survival exploration to PlayStation 4, GRIP Digital and Teotl Studios have confirmed. To enhance the immersion factor, a PlayStation VR version is also available, and if you’re in Europe you can pre-order either one through the PlayStation Store right now.
Not unlike No Man’s Sky, the starting point for The Solus Project is a foreign planet. Spacewrecked and left for dead, your job is to survive in a merciless climate, guard yourself from earthquakes, meteors and tornadoes, and voyage through spacious caverns in search of secrets. The Solus Project refuses to hold your hand, will clog your mind with puzzles, and at heart, is a linear experience to be savoured by one. It’s a post-Earth world where everything’s out to get you, but you can’t die—humanity’s fate rests on your shoulders.
The Solus Project is out on September 18 and will set you back $19.99 USD. We checked it out last year, and thought it was an alluring, worthwhile entry to the survival and space exploration genres.
