Crytek has released the second episode of their "7 Wonders of Crysis 3" web series and just like the first one, it's made with collaboration from Albert Hughes (Book of Eli), and instead of CGI, uses in-game graphics to tell the tale.
In this second episode called "The Hunt," Prophet stalks the CELL operatives and uses the nicely-rendered blades of weeds to traverse undetected. Unfortunately, he's not the only one stalking his prey, as a new kind of Ceph soliders are out to hunt him.
Give it a watch and marvel at how everything looks.
Based from the footage, I assume this is PC footage and a monster rig at that. Can you imagine if current consoles can render graphics that nicely? From the grass, to Prophet himself, everything looks phenomenal.
Crysis 3 is set for release in February of 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and the PS3. But the third episode of the 7 Wonders of Crysis 3, which is titled Cause & Effect, will be out sooner.
Do you think the graphics shown in the video will be indicative of what we should expect from next-gen consoles or could they even be better?
