Just last week we told you about Street Fighter X Mega Man; a free downloadable game from Capcom to celebrate the Blue Bomber's 25th (!) Anniversary.
Well, the free game is now officially out! However, good luck downloading it quickly. While the zip file only weighs in at 33MB, it seems Capcom's servers are getting hammered big time since it's taking people (and me!) a long time to download the free game.
For the moment, the free game is only for PCs and there's no word if it will be made for consoles in the future.
Here's the game's official premise as detailed by Capcom — not that it needs it, mind you.
Having fought countless robot masters over the years, Mega Man is ready to lay back, relax and enjoy his 25th Anniversary. Getting wind of this, Ryu and his fellow Street Fighters want one last battle before they let their own anniversary finish. Charge up your mega busters and stretch out your lightning legs, this is Street Fighter® X Mega Man®!
Go to Capcom's Unity page now to download it and remember, Capcom has more Mega Man stuff planned for 2013. So if you're a fan of the franchise, give it a go and let Capcom know you want more Mega Man games, alright?
Also, if the screenshot posted above isn't a dead giveaway already, the looks and feels like an 8-bit Mega Man game. So there are no fancy 3D, anti-aliasing or any of that sort. It's just pure gameplay that might make you pull your hair out. Now go download the game while I feel old knowing that Mega Man is already 25 years old.
