Remasters have been a hot commodity for developers these past few years. We’re seeing more and more collections launch on the latest generation console with brand new graphical upgrades and enhancements.
For instance, Activision had recently launched a collection remaster of Crash Bandicoot. The video game title is called Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy which offers gamers the first three main Crash Bandicoot video game titles all with improved visuals.
The title was a massive success, one that surprised Activision which has sparked an even bigger interest in looking back at their IPs to see just if there is any other video game title or series that can be brought back to life as a remastered collection.
This bit of news came from a report by This Gen Gaming who noted that the interest in bringing out additional remastered video game titles came from an Activision Blizzard second quarter 2017 Q&A.
While the developers have been eyeing on other titles to see remastered, the developers have also stated that certain older IPs may see a remastered edition but instead reborn as a new series for a different platform.
An example would be Skylanders on the mobile platform, but little information has been stated so far on what video game titles would be released as a remastered edition or as a mobile title.
If Activision is looking to revive some past IPs for a remastered release then let us know what titles or series you would like to see in the comment section below. As it stands right now, there seems to be a good indication the next series we’ll see from Activision will be the classic Spyro titles.
