During the Video Game Awards show, Mercury Steam showed us a new Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2 trailer and in it, they showed a different side of Gabriel.
Now, before we continue, keep in mind that the images, discussion and trailer itself will spoil Lords of Shadow 1 in a very big way. So if you've yet to finish it, you might want to avert your eyes as they will spoil the game's awesome ending.
In the trailer below (courtesy of Joystiq), we get to see Gabriel in his new "form" and it shows him waking from his tomb and out for blood — literally.
Interesting to note here is that it seems we might have two versions of Gabriel that we'll see in Lords of Shadow 2. There's the full-on Dracula mode, and there's one where he looks like the Gabriel from Lords of Shadow 1 — but a lot more powerful and with fangs.
Even in his dialogue, he seems different as he utters, "I am the Dragon, I am Dracul — the Prince of Darkness." So I take it he has embraced what he's become?
Lastly, in the trailer's final seconds, we see that it takes place in modern times. Does this mean we'll get to see Gabriel wreck havoc in our present day? Sure seems like it. Whatever the case may be, though, Lords of Shadow 2 just catapulted in my most anticipated of 2013 list.
What do you want to see out of Gabriel in Lords of Shadow 2? Would you want the game to be set in modern times or should they tell the story on how Gabriel came to be Dracula first?
