Nintendo has just revealed that over 1.75 million hardware units were sold in the month of November. Their brand new console represents a sizable chunk of that figure; over 425,000 Wii Us were sold during its first seven days, between November 18 and November 24.
Nintendo also points out that the 425,000 figure nearly matches the original Wii's first week total of 475,000 units sold.
As for software, only New Super Mario Bros U was cited, which apparently sold over 243,000 copies, and has an attach rate of nearly 60%. Which is hardly a shocker given that it's Super Mario we're talking about.
It was predicted that the Wii U would be the hot item going into Black Friday 2012, and it certainly lived up to the hype. Though the 3DS also did well, by selling nearly 540,000 units. The platform has now sold nearly 6.5 million units during its lifetime.
Furthermore, Nintendo still managed to sell 420,00 regular Wiis and 370,000 regular DSs. Lifetime numbers for both platforms are 40 million and 53 million, respectively.
