Developers Tequila Works (RiME) and Cavalier Game Studios are working together with publisher BadLand Games to safely deliver The Sexy Brutale to North American retailers. This marks the game’s first physical release. The Sexy Brutale charmed audiences earlier this year on multiple platforms, intriguing with its unusual premise of murder, mystery, and a “never-ending masked ball” starring priest-turned-private eye Lafcadio Boone.
Boone’s task is to save the guests of The Sexy Brutale (the eponymous casino mansion) before they’re claimed by death, using special abilities and paying attention to overlooked minutia to expose the murderer. In a very Groundhog day twist, players need to relive everything in a simultaneous 12 hour time loop, altering events on the go in order to make a difference.
The Sexy Brutale: Full House Edition is launching for PlayStation 4 on August 8. The PS4 exclusive will set you back $29.99 USD and can now be pre-ordered through GameStop (North America only). Pre-ordering the game also gives you access to the official soundtrack CD and a full-colour studio manual documenting The Sexy Brutale’s inspirations.
