The previously mentioned holy bible that all Zelda diehards have been patiently waiting for is getting the special edition treatment as well. The publisher for the North American volume, Dark Horse Books, recently announced a limited collector’s volume.
In addition to the introduction by Shigeru Miyamoto, full history of the franchise, and aforementioned timeline, the harccover special edition will also include a Legend of Zelda manga, art that is being billed as never before seen, additional in-depth behind the scenes tidbits, and contributions from "most storied concept artists in video games", according to the press release.
It also states:
"The limited edition of Hyrule Historia looks like it could have been pulled off the shelf of one of the sages of Hyrule. The faux-leather hardcover with gold-gilded pages bears the symbol of the Gate of Time, debossed, on the cover. The limited collector’s edition of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia is perfect for the hardcore The Legend of Zelda fan!"
The special edition has a very limited print run of just 4,000 copies, and will only be available via the Nintendo World Store, Think Geek, Things From Another World, Forbidden Planet (UK), and PBM (Holland). Only two online retails were accepting pre-orders, Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and both are sold out already unfortunately.
Well, there's always eBay. The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia Collector’s Edition will be available on February 12, 2013, for $69.99. Yes, that's a few weeks after the regular edition is released.
