It's almost December and that means it's time for another Video Game Awards show (VGAs) by Spike TV. While the actual presentations and programs aren't really that good (putting that mildly), the real reason gaming fans tune in is to see a ton of games get announced.
It seems this year's show won't be any different, as VGAs and GameTrailers host Geoff Keighley recently went on Twitter to tease that an announcement aimed at "old-school" gaming fans is imminent at the awards show.
Have an amazing VGA announcement coming together for old-school gaming fans….this one is very special to me personally.
Unfortunately, the only clue we have now is that it's "very special" to Keighley. However, we do know that there will be new footage of Gears of War: Judgment, The Last of Us and even a "sneak at the next-generation of gaming" at the show. For the latter part, it could mean an early look at the PS4 and Xbox 720, but to be honest, I think it'll be a new Unrea Engine 4 tech demo.
So, any guesses as to what this "old-school" game could be? Perhaps a remake of Galaga? Maybe Adventure Island or Bonk? Also of note, do you think it's for current-gen consoles still or could it be targeted for release on next-gen platforms since it's just getting announced?
