Now that the Wii U is out, has it ushered in the next-gen of console gaming or are pundits right that the games it has now are just "on par" with what's on the Xbox 360 and PS3?
Regardless of what you think, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime thinks that third-party games on the Wii U look "dramatically better" compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
If for some reason you have a hard time believing that he said that, lucky for me (and you!) that CNN's interview with Fils-Aime is in video form so you can watch it for yourself. CNN's Kristie Lu Stout talks with Reggie on video chat and to be honest, I'm surprised at the questions she asked. It's not your standard fluff questions that are answered by PR speak.
Here's the entire interview, but for the third-party comment, head on over to the 2:35 mark.
Of course, it can be argued that Fils-Aime can't buckle down and say that the Wii U will have inferior graphics compared to the PS4 and Xbox 720, no? But to say that they're "dramatically better?" I leave that up to you guys to contend over.
So, do you agree with Fils-Aime or are current-gen consoles look the same compared to its Wii U counterparts? Maybe it's because the Wii U's a new piece of tech and not a lot of developers can push it to its limits yet? For those who already bought a Wii U, or has seen comparison footage, sound off and let us know.
