The Wii U may be getting two new games that Nintendo has yet to announce, one of which features Yoshi.
Word about the two games leaked out over the weekend as enthusiastic gamers were just setting up their accounts on the new Nintendo Wii U console, which faced a string of problems during its launch, and remains—to this hour—unstable. A user on NeoGAF named Trike posted his account of how he managed to access a debug version of Miiverse, which gave him administrative authorization, allowing him to edit other Wii U accounts and view test messages from Nintendo developers.
In his thread on NeoGAF, Trike detailed how he saw a string of tags and threads related to video game franchises, two of which are “Yoshi’s Land Wii U” and “Soul Hackers.” Both titles have stars next to their names, identifying them as actual games rather than user-generated discussion topics.
Trike explained that he managed to access the debug options on the Wii U by hitting the “X” button on the gamepad while hovering over the exit button. It was apparently designed as a backdoor for developers at Nintendo to enable administrative access. I found an admin access list or something to that effect," he wrote.
"I couldn't really do anything from there though. I could view different messages from a developer though. One mentioned that there would be big games coming out(announced?) on the 10th of December. I went to a different link on the debug menu and it showed three different Miiverse subforums I could access that would be coming out on December 20th."
Nintendo has not made any statements regarding the apparent intrusion.
