Supergiant Games creative director, Greg Kasavin, took to the PlayStation blog to announce the official price point and release date for their upcoming title Pyre.
The highly anticipated title is set to release for both the PS4, and PC on July 25. The title will launch with a $19.99 price point. In lieu of the release date announcement, Kasavin continued on the PlayStation Blog to give fans, even more, news about the game.
Pyre is said to be their biggest and most imaginative world yet, ensuring that each player will feel super immersed and connected while playing the game.
This is the biggest and most imaginative world yet from us at Supergiant! You’ll get to know an ensemble cast of characters struggling to earn back their freedom as you make your way across the forsaken land called the Downside. Characters in Pyre come in all shapes and sizes, from hulking demons grown strong from their struggle to survive to the winged Harps, who plot against their enemies from their mountain nests. Everyone in Pyre has a unique story behind their exile, and what might be in store for them if only they could return.
Here is the official description of the what the game is all about:
Pyre is a party-based RPG in which you lead a band of exiles to freedom through ancient competitions spread across a vast, mystical purgatory. Who shall return to glory, and who shall remain in exile to the end of their days?
Kasavin also announced a slew of new features and details for the game including a new friend versus mode, complex 3-on-3 battle system, and a branching story with no-game over – truly making the game accessible to all players.
Supergiant Games have a pretty solid resume with games such as Transistor and Bastion, and by the looks of it, they are going to be hitting a trifecta this July.
Now I’m interested to hear what you think about the game. Excited for it? Have you played Supergiant’s other titles? Let us know in the comments below!
