Firing up your console today, you probably saw that you needed an update before hopping online.
Update 4.70 had no prior announcement before going live and only has a single line of text describing what has been altered
“This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.”
While the ambiguous description doesn’t yield much to what has been changed, a couple of keen-eyed Redditors managed to spot the differences.
They mainly deal with the design of the icons for the PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Store and other services that are prominently featured on the PS4 dashboard. You can view a comparison between the new and old icons below.
What else “the quality of system performance” update changes, is a myth, but I’m pretty sure we’ll have some more detail at a later stage. The update size is only around 320mb, so you won’t have to wait too long until you can hop back online.
If you haven’t seen yet, Sony has launched another sale on the PS Store, this time highlighting titles from the Publishers Ubisoft and Capcom. Players can snag titles like Assasins Creed, Far Cry 4, Resident Evil 7 and other brilliant titles for slashed prices, check them out here.
