Sony has announced that the cumulative sales of the PlayStation 3 has now reached 70 million units worldwide as of November 4, 2012. In addition to that, the console's motion-controller the PS Move, has now surpassed 15 million units worldwide as of November 11 of this year.
The publisher also revealed more stats concerning its announcement. The PlayStation Move, which was released back in September of 2010, has now more than 400 games available to it as of November of this year.
Regarding the PS3 itself, Sony states that cumulative titles for the console has now reached 3,590 with more than 595 million units sold worldwide.
Not bad stats, no? Considering it released a year late compared to Microsoft's Xbox 360.
While all this sounds like Sony's ten-year plan for the PS3 is in full swing, what does that mean for the PlayStation 4? Is Sony stalling the release and announcement of the PS4 due to the PS3's success? We can't tell for sure, but we do have a few rumors circulating around on how the PS4 might not even be called the PlayStation 4.
Are you one of the 70 million people in the world with a PS3? How's the system treating you so far? Also of note, do you think Sony has a chance of catching up to the Xbox 360's lifetime sales?
