While Black Ops 2 is selling like hotcakes all over the world, it seems the game's first week is not without its hitches.
Multiple forum members have reported on the game's official forums that Black Ops 2 is suffering from connectivity and freezing problems.
This freezing issue — which I've experienced first-hand — is not limited to the "inferior" PS3 version of Black Ops 2. Although it seems to be more apparent on Sony's platform and the connectivity issue is not helping things in anyway for PS3 Call of Duty players.
Activision Support's official Twitter tweeted the following in response to PS3 users complaining about the connectivity issues they've had with the game's multiplayer:
We are aware of connectivity issues that some players are facing in Black Ops II on PlayStation 3. We are working on resolution, thank you.
Currently, no fix or explanation has been released just yet. Based on what's out there, it seems the PS3 version of Black Ops 2's multiplayer gets stuck in the matchmaking/finding games screen where it will take forever to match you up with people across the world. Given that the game has already managed to sell over a million copies in the U.S. alone, I'd say this is a bug and not representative of the overall game's lack of playerbase, no?
In addition to that, I've also experienced two crashes on the multiplayer loading screen. The only way to fix it is via resetting the console and booting the game up once more.
Has any of you experienced any freezing or connectivity issues with Black Ops 2? Should PS3 gamers feel offended that it seems Activision is treating their Call of Duty version like it's second-class again? Sound off and let us know.
