Aussie team Defiant Development has blasted through its kickstarter campaign for deck-builder Hand of Fate: Ordeals thanks to enthusiastic backers. The game was fully-funded within six hours, and has now reached more than double its original funding goal of $30,000 AUD. Set in the Hand of Fate universe, Hand of Fate: Ordeals is a traditional tabletop game for 1-4 players that comes with both competitive and co-op modes.
Each session lasts 30 minutes, and is played over three levels. Players begin with an elementary deck, progressing through the game by purchasing advanced cards, strengthening their character, and methodically organising pre-meditated attacks against foes. Defeating enemies will reward players with ‘token shards’, which can in turn help with the acquisition of powerful relics.
Those interested can secure themselves a copy of Hand of Fate: Ordeals for $59 USD/$79 AUD/£45 GBP. At the time of publication, Hand of Fate: Ordeals has raised $61,699 AUD with a total of 801 backers.
Hand of Fate was a breakout success when it released in 2015, simultaneously bringing deck-building to life in a digital RPG landscape and putting Australian independent games on the map.
