Commander Shepard's journey is, for all intents and purposes, a done deal. Sure, there's the upcoming Omega DLC to look forward to and the chances are high that we'll see more DLC once that's released, but that will be the end of the Commander's tale.
Of course, this doesn't mean that the franchise itself will end. BioWare has already gone on record before to confirm that there will be more games in the series — regardless of Shepard's involvement. Now, Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson went on Twitter to state that they're in "early stages of designing a new Mass Effect game," and has even asked fans what they want to see.
We're in early stages of designing a completely new Mass Effect game. What would you want to see in it?
Not much to go on, I admit. And for the record, I tweeted Hudson and said I wanted to see more Commander Shepard. Although, he hasn't replied but I like to think it's because he's silently nodding along to my idea.
Seeing as BioWare is in "early stages" of development for the new Mass Effect game, I assume it's slated for a next-gen release. If so, is that enough time for soured Mass Effect fans to give the franchise another go? Are you in the same boat as me that wants Commander Shepard back for another call of duty or would you want someone new to save the galaxy this time?
