Pencil it into your calendars – a sneaky blog post over on the Skullgirls website has confirmed we’ll be getting the game for mobile before the end of May.
Skullgirls originally came out in 2012 for PlayStation 3, with an Xbox 360 version following shortly after and a PC release in 2013. 2015 saw the launch of Skullgirls 2nd Encore on PlayStation 4, and PC was next up in 2016. Now in 2017, Skullgirls makes the leap to mobile for the first time, and Hidden Variable and Lab Zero are both working hard to recreate the “frenetic, tactical gameplay that players deserve on their phones and tablets”.
Recently, there was a soft launch of the game for players in Canada and The Netherlands which introduced deeper customisation, interface improvements, better enemy AI and a new expert difficulty for both Story Mode and Daily Events.
Skullgirls is expected to launch on May 25th in North/South America, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and The Philippines. Specific mobile platforms have not yet been revealed – but based on the soft launch, it’s probably safe to say both iOS and Android will receive support.
