Capcom: Overseas Players Have “Not Been Very Positive” About Resident Evil 6

November 6, 2012 by Julie Horup

Zombies aren’t doing well outside Japan.

According to Capcom, Resident Evil 6 has been somewhat successful, but it could have done better.

In a Q&A, noticed by Eurogamer, the publisher asked themselves a few questions about the game, and how it's been received by the players. Apparently it's not all bad news, but it's not exactly great either.

"Overseas user reviews have not been very positive about Resident Evil 6," said Capcom and continued their conversation with themselves: "What is your strategy for strengthening the brands outside Japan?"

"Resident Evil 6 continues to generate repeat salges in Japan and overseas," said Capcom. "Furthermore, initial shipments set a new record for a Capcom title. So this game has been successful to some degree."

"We therefor believe it is too early to reach a conclusion about how users view this game. We always listen carefully to the feedback from users and use this information when developing games."

Resident Evil 6 currently holds an average Metacritic score of 74.
