When we first saw gameplay footage of the upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars, we remarked how it looks a lot like the normal Angry Birds experience, except with a few Star Wars specific trimmings.
We also noted how it didn't resemble the Angry Birds Space experience, which was curious given that it just seemed like such a no-brainer. Well, turns out, we spoke way too soon.
Since then, several more clips have been released. Just today we received a brand new clip featuring Rovio's take on Darth Vader and Obi Wan. It too is much like the first few iterations of Angry Bird. Which, once again, is not necessarily a bad thing.
But a few days back, we were treated to this particular video, featuring C-3PO & R2-D2 in gameplay that is indeed exactly like Angry Birds Space.
Then there's the following, which has a bit of both, and starring everyone's favorite (and presumable the stars of Star Wars Episode 7), Han Solo & Chewbacca.
With the gameplay of two different games in one, enhanced with extra flourishes, which also happens to utilize the license quite admirably, Rovio is to be commended for not phoning it in as some developer might. As well as having no Episode 1-3 nonsense (at least thus far).
