Slowly but surely, we're now learning more and more things about Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5. Now we know it's release window, and even the notion that it might include dogs, too.
However, one thing we have no idea on is GTA 5's DLC…or at least what Rockstar has planned. While no details has been spilled still, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick does have a few choice words on the matter.
Answering a question during Take-Two's investor call last night (via Videogamer), Zelnick was asked about Grand Theft Auto 5's potential for "digital content." The Take-Two CEO admitted that it's way too early to disclose those plans but that discussions regarding that will come in the "normal course."
I think you can safely assume that Rockstar, as the label that led the charge in downloadable content with Grand Theft Auto 4, I think you'd have every reason to believe, purely because of the ground-breaking nature of the title itself and the multiplayer in the title, that there's going to be a lot of interesting stuff. But I'll leave that to Rockstar to announce.
Zelnick also reveals in the same conference call that Grand Theft Auto 5 will not be launching until at least April 2013. He also gives a statement on why they haven't issued a specific release date just yet.
With regard to the date for Grand Theft Auto 5, spring 2013, we make those announcements based on what we think is best to market the title, and we think that's the right way to describe it, and we're thrilled with the way that is shaping up.
If that's not enough GTA 5 info for you, Supposedly, the game's pre-order bonus items has been leaked in a letter, which also outs that GTA 5 will get its second trailer soon. According to an alleged email sent to Future Shop employees, people who pre-order GTA 5 will receive a free poster and collectible "Los Santos Photo Viewer," which will come in five colors and will feature five different screenshots that will "never be released anywhere else, ever."
Here's the image of the Photo Viewer, as well as the letter (via NeoGAF).
Bear in mind that there is the possibility that both the Photo Viewer and the letter itself might be forgeries. If so, don't expect a second trailer soon, then. Needless to say, we'll update this post once we get more info regarding 'em.
Regardless if they're fake or not, it seems the Grand Theft Auto 5 hype train is already starting. Are you already on-board or has other sandbox games filled the void GTA left?
