Without question, the one game that made E3 2012 an otherwise worthless affair was Ubisoft's Watch Dogs. Not only did it look absolutely amazing, it also legitimately made people excited for the very medium of video games itself.
Which Ubisoft knows, hence why they're using the excitement it generates as means to attract new talent, to contribute towards the upcoming title. The publisher has just released a brand new trailer that’s mostly what we've seen already (which is not a bad thing mind you; it's still impressive, to a jaw-dropping degree).
Instead, its focus is on the people behind the project. Including the artistic director and the lead animator, who are both with Ubisfot Montreal, plus the lead technical designer, the lead level designer, and the lead programmer, who are part of Ubisoft Reflections (best known for the Driver series).
All five men discuss the behind the scenes process, which is a collaborative effort between both studios, with additional support from Ubisoft's Quebec, Paris, and Bucharest studios. They make it quite clear that they are doing some of the best work of their careers, plus playing around with some truly cutting edge (and flat out awesome) tech.
And… if you the viewer are interested… there is a chance that you can do so as well, but joining their ranks. It's quite the compelling sales pitch. All interested parties are directed to head toward this website.
