Activision has announced that the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise will be getting a worldwide premiere next week on April 26.
The announcement comes from the official Call of Duty website, where a countdown ticker is set up and a World War 2 subhead is present. This means the rumors about Call of Duty returning to World War 2 were true; now we must wait until the 26 for more news on the title.
2017’s Call of Duty will be developed by SledgeHammer Games, one of the teams that are on the three-year cycle. Since the fans are seemingly fed up with the advanced, futuristic movements, it makes sense to bring the series back to a more traditional time period.
Earlier this year Activision noted that they were aware of the lower-than-expected sales from the latest entry in the Call of Duty series — Infinite Warfare, however, they have “never been more excited creatively” for their next entry.
The official world premiere for the next Call of Duty title is set to unveil on April 26 at 10 AM PST. Stay tuned to Gameranx for more updates on Call of Duty: WWII.
