New Halo 4 Trailer + War Game Map Pack Info Revealed

October 24, 2012 by Jeanine Celestin-Greer

343 Industries and Microsoft release more info about upcoming Halo 4 DLC

Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced a type of season pass for Halo 4, officially stating that there will be downloadable content after the game releases. To get you even more hyped up about the game and their new pass, they've released a launch trailer which you can view below.

The season pass is called the War Games Map Pass and discounts your DLC for more than 15%. The pass will cost $24.99 USD or 2000 Microsoft Points and will give access to three map packs. If you buy the War Games Map Pass, you will also receive two bonus in-game helmets and a unique in-game emblem. It was revealed that these maps will be released a few months apart, beginning in December, then in February and lastly in April. You can see the concept art of one of the map locations in the picture above.

Not shy about giving details, Microsoft has also released the titles of the packs and brief descriptions. It's clear 343 Industries have really taken their time with Halo 4 and made sure everything would be ready and go smoothly. You can view the descriptions below.

Crimson Map Pack (December release timeframe)

Maps: Wreckage, Harvest, Shatter

Description: Witness the chaos of a clash of civilizations in Wreckage, with its blend of claustrophobic spaces and dangerous exposures and venture into the human colony environs of Harvest, and explore a human foray on an alien moon in Shatter.

Majestic Map Pack (February release timeframe)

Maps: Landfall, Monolith, Skyline

Description: Landfall’s emphasis is on infantry battles against a glittering ocean on a distant world, while Monolith exposes you to the naked vacuum of space – and the firepower of opposing teams, and Skyline’s distinctly industrial feel provides new challenges in somewhat familiar, but occasionally confined spaces.

Castle Map Pack (April release timeframe)

Maps: Daybreak, Outcast, Perdition

Description: Daybreak is set in a military facility against the backdrop of an idyllic mountain range, while Outcast plunges you into the warrens, canyons and arches of an alien edifice, and Perdition takes players into the heart of an urban sprawl, with tactical speed and situational awareness its key features.

Halo 4 will be released next Tuesday, on November 6th.
