Even if Sony and Microsoft has kept mum on the subject, there are a lot of speculations that the next-gen offerings from both companies will make an appearance sometime next year. Well, if the official E3 site's hints are anything to go by, those speculations might be true after all.
The official E3 website has the following image on their front page:
This is the year. This is the E3 you won’t want to miss.See What’s Next in Video Games at E3 2013E3 brings you to the epicenter of the video game industry.Experience the latest in ground-breaking technologies and test-drive products forconsoles, PCs, mobile phones, handheld systems and the Internet. It’s interactive entertainment. It’s video games. It’s what’s next now.
While the line "This is the E3 you won't want to miss" might be a line everyone uses to hype up the event, there's the "See What's Next in Video Games at E3 2013" that seemingly implies next-gen consoles will be shown off. Of course, one can also argue that "what's next in video games" might just mean what's next in store for software. But, factor in the "Experience the latest in ground-breaking technologies and 'test-drive' products in consoles, etc." and it's understandable why everyone's excited for E3 2013 more than ever.
Could E3 2013 be the year that next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft finally be revealed after all these years? We won't know the answer to that until next year, but don't be surprised if they do.
E3 2013 will once again be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will take place starting on June 11, 2013.
