The long-awaited patch 1.05 for Diablo 3 is now live in all territories, and brings a host of new features to the game.
The biggest addition to the game is the new Monster Power system, which is designed to give you more control over the difficulty level in your game and the amount of experience you’ll get from killing monsters. Similar to the “Players X” system in Diablo 2, Monster Power allows you to increase the health and damage of monsters to different power levels. In return, they’ll provide you with more experience points, and boosts to Magic Find and Gold Find which stack above the 300% cap. You can read about it here.
The new patch also sees the inclusion of a new feature called the Infernal Machine, which will allow level 60 players to battle “uber” versions of Sanctuary’s most dangerous bosses. There are rewards for killing these bosses, but players must first assemble the Infernal Machine in order to gain access to them. The device can be used to open portals throughout Sanctuary to these special encounters. Defeating each boss will also earn players components for a new Legendary ring.
In addition to these two main features, the reward system in the game has been completely overhauled, with bonuses for every stack of Nephalem Valor in Inferno mode. Additionally, various improvements have been made to each of the character classes and their skills. Full details can be found in the patch notes here.
