CD Projekt RED has announced the release date for its upcoming action RPG, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, May 17, 2011.
Adam Badowski, project lead at CD Projekt RED, said,
We've decided to move the launch date back a few weeks to afford us more time to polish the game. Of course, we know that players would like to get the game as soon as possible, so we hope that they will forgive us! We strongly believe that the extra time spent polishing the title will be well worth the wait
The Witcher 2 takes place after the events of the first game, in which Geralt accepted the task of working for King Foltest of Temeria to investigate a curse that befell the king's daughter. But in The Witcher 2, Geralt won't be chasing something as subtle as a magical curse.
