Players new and old are constantly entering the crazy world that is GTA Online. And with them, their love of all things that go vroom. Cars, we mean. Driving cars, wrecking cars, customizing cars. Ok you caught us, we’re talking about customizing today. Doing normal customizing isn’t a hard task, simply going to Los Santos Customs will get you what you need. But for special or additional customization, you’re gonna want Benny’s Original Motorworks. Here’s what you need to know about unlocking this shop, and what cars can be customized there in the big year of 2026.
How do I Unlock Benny’s?
To start the short process of unlocking the auto shop, open your map and locate the LD icon. You can use the image below to help find a general idea of the map location to look for the icon.
- Once located, set your waypoint and make your way to the shop. When you arrive, walk into the yellow ring outside where you will be prompted to talk to Lamar Davis.
- He will send you to a new location, a similar LD icon, but with a small 1 in the corner. Go here to begin the next step.
Now, to unlock Benny’s, you are going to need to start the next mission. Notice how we said start.
- Once you activate the yellow ring at this new location, you’ll get a long cutscene where you’ll talk to Lamar, followed by a usual mission start screen.
You do not have to complete this mission.
- Instead, once at the match-making screen, you will see in the bottom right corner an option to quit. Click and confirm to be taken back to the lobby.
Now you will see that Benny’s is permanently unlocked for your customizing pleasure!
What Cars can I Customize at Benny’s?
Ok, so you’ve unlocked this special auto shop, but are you aware that only select cars can be customized there? Currently there are 31 cars that are able to be driven into the shop to be worked on and upgraded. Along with specific cars, the player must also pay to have their vehicle upgraded to a custom variant, where only then can it be customized and have additional modifications added.
In the game, there is a website where you can view and purchase a few of the cars that are able to be customized at Benny’s.
- To find this website, open your in-game phone and go to the Internet icon found in the bottom row.
- Here you will find a list of websites to visit. If you click the Travel and Transport tab, you’ll be able to find Benny’s website much easier, where you can then browse the cars for sale and purchase one.
