Another year and another slew of incredible games we can’t wait to play. 2025 should be packed with some incredible releases. In this list, we will feature a few games we think you need to keep tabs on for the PC platform.
#86 Copa City
You might not realize it, but when an event like the World Cup of Football, the REAL football, comes to a country, it’s a mad sprint to ensure that everyone and everything is set up properly for what’s about to happen. There are stadiums that need to be built, access to the event has to be smooth, you need to have plenty of businesses and stalls to get the people what they need during the matches and so on.
In Copa City, you’ll be the one in charge of making that happen, and it won’t be easy. Build to impress, build to last, and most importantly, build so that the event goes off without a hitch!
#85 ILL
Horror games come in all shapes and sizes, but when it comes to titles like ILL, they’re trying to make you both “feel the horror” while also fighting against it. You play someone who goes to a small town on an investigation. Specifically, this place has fallen into madness, and you need to learn the hows and whys.
That will be hard to do when there are monsters everywhere! Just as important, these monsters learn over time. So, if you try to do the same strategy repeatedly, the monsters will learn to counter it, and you’ll be in trouble.
Do you think you can overcome the terrors ahead?
#84 Alkahest
You’d be surprised by how many RPGs are set in medieval times. It’s a period where many kinds of stories can be crafted, and in Alkahest, you’ll get another take on that world. In this case, you’ll play the son of a minor lord, where the realm you live in isn’t exactly the most stable. If you’re hoping to make a name for yourself, you’ll need to travel around and get stuff done.
That means going on quests, taking out monsters, surviving the impossible, and even using Alchemy to try and give yourself an edge. Your choices and decisions will determine whether you live or die. So, you know, choose wisely.
#83 Jurassic Park: Survival
There are plenty of video games that put you up against dinosaurs, but Jurassic Park: Survival does it in a way that truly will make you fear terror and make you wonder if you’ll get out there alive. In the game, you play an InGen scientist who was trapped on Isla Nublar during the events of the first movie and wasn’t able to get out when the first rescue happened.
On her own, she’ll have to travel around the island to see if there is any way out that doesn’t evolve getting eaten by dinosaurs! Be wary of every step you take, as you never know what might be out there waiting for you.
#82 Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone
As numerous multiversal shows and movies have highlighted, getting stuck in the wrong place is never a good thing. In Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone, your job was to literally walk from one plane of existence to another to try and find a key substance and then return back home with it. However, after your latest jump, everything goes wrong. You’re now stuck in this version of reality, and you’ll have to survive in it…somehow.
With terrors around every corner, you’ll need to get the right equipment to deal with everything that’s coming for you. Will you be able to survive here? Or will you be this place’s next victim? Only one way to find out…
#81 Hell is Us
A civil war is consuming your country, but that is just the beginning of everything that is going on in Hell is Us. You see, there is something…else…going on. There are beings popping up that can withstand your modern weapons, so you must be careful with how you confront them.
The game puts a heavy emphasis on exploration, and that means you’ll have to wander through dark areas to see what lurks within. You’ll have no guide outside of your intuition. So let’s hope that doesn’t get you killed!
What is the truth behind these chimeras? Will you even live long enough to find out?
#80 Light No Fire
One of the true joys of certain RPGs is that they give you a vast world to go and explore and have fun in. The twist with Light No Fire is that there isn’t a “grand quest” for you to go on within this world. You’ll be put onto a world that claims to be the size of Earth, and you’re allowed to do whatever you want within it.
Seriously, you can travel around it and see what areas you want to live in, or you can see out the lore of this place to learn what happened within it. Ride a dragon, get into fights, build a legacy, this world is here to be sculpted by your hands.
#79 Soulframe
There are certain teams in the RPG space that have proven themselves many times over. Digital Extremes is one of those squads. After all, they have one of the most successful live-service games that they built up over a decade, grew a loyal fanbase through, and showcased how it’s supposed to be handled. Now, they’re aiming to do that again with Soulframe.
In this title, you end up on the island of Midrath, where things are bound within both song and sorcery. The ancestors of this land are begging to be saved, and they need an Envoy like you to do it. So, can you help free this land from what’s afflicting it?
#78 Project: The Perceiver
While details are still scarce on Project: The Perceiver, we do know that the title is an open-world game, and one that is heavily inspired by Chinese mythology and lore. To that end, you’ll embark on a journey through a world where an entity has heavily changed the landscape, and all that looks familiar.
To advance through the game, you’ll wear a mask to acquire certain skills and see if it’s enough to handle the dangers ahead. Choose your mask and skills wisely, as you’ll duel numerous threats in an attempt to come out alive and see what secrets this world has to offer.
#77 Exoborne
Many people have different ideas of what the apocalypse will be and how it’ll affect our world. So, why don’t we show you a post-apocalyptic world where it’s the weather you have to fear? In Exoborne, you’ll be part of a world where the weather got so extreme that it tore up the United States, and trying to survive here is about having the right weapons and supplies to make it to the next day.
You are part a group who is trying to make it through in this place, and that means going up against numerous factions to get more materials so you can endure the terrors that are all around you.
#76 Atomfall
Not all post-apocalyptic games are meant to be “dark and depressing.” Some are honestly meant to be looks into how certain areas would change when a certain kind of event befalls them. For example, in Atomfall, you’ll see what would happen to Great Britain if history had changed a little bit and a nuclear disaster had been averted in our world…actually went ahead and caused serious changes to the landscape and its people.
You’ll start the game five years after the disaster, meaning that you’ll have to find out what’s going on while you’re trying to survive. With rival groups, monsters, and other surprises awaiting you, this won’t be an easy thing.
#75 Chrono Odyssey
From an odd creature title to a potentially genre-defining MMORPG, let’s talk about Chrono Odyssey. The title is powered by Unreal Engine 5 to deliver cutting-edge graphics that will show off the world of Setera like nothing else out there.
While the world might seem like your typical MMORPG fair, you’ll soon realize how much it’s not. The timeline of this world is clashing with others, causing multiple threats to appear and challenges warriors like yourselves. You’ll need to fight your way through this world and figure out how to stop these contradictions from happening.
What will you make of yourself in this MMORPG?
#74 Gothic 1 Remake
The Gothic franchise is actually a bit bigger than most people remember. But the key thing here is that the games have been deep and full of story and fun to be had.
Now, a new studio has been made with the express purpose to go and make a Gothic 1 Remake and design it to be both completely modern, and yet one that adheres to what is the original game. We’ve seen a lot of remakes as of late, and some of them do indeed push the games beyond what they were before.
So, can this one live up to the hype? We’ll have to wait and see!
#73 Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
They say being a vampire sucks. But you don’t seem to mind that drawback when you’re a vampire.
In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the story continues from past titles, and you’ll once again be put to the test as you try to navigate vampire society while also attempting to keep the peace with humans. A war is seemingly on the horizon, and your actions can directly affect that. But how will you choose to handle it? That is up to you.
Will you be the wise Elder Vampire and use your wits and cunning to keep things rolling? Or will you choose a side and let war happen? You’ll find out soon.
#72 Avowed
While it may not sound like it, or look at it given its first-person perspective, Avowed is set in the realm of Pillars of Eternity, and that makes it all the more intriguing to fans of the franchise.
However, the new “focus” if you will is apparently making this game more to something like the Elder Scrolls as you’ll be dealing with magic and swordplay in the first-person perspective. Something that is very different from the Pillars of Eternity Games.
The first trailer for the game hints at many things, including dark forces brought to life by unnatural means, a former member of royalty trying to get back the crown, and more. We’ll have to wait for more details though.
#71 Little Devil Inside
Many games like to show you worlds where monsters unexpectedly show up and cause havoc on their people. But in Little Devil Inside, the people know that the monsters exist. They just don’t care about them.
That’s where you come in. A professor hires you to identify odd paranormal events that people ignore and determine how dangerous they are.
Not everything you experience will be as you’d expect. So do what you can with what you have and see where this world takes you. Oh, and do be careful of the monsters you meet along the way. You might like some, but some might not like you.
#70 Lost Soul Aside
There isn’t too much information out about Lost Soul Aside, but the little we do know paints a picture for a nicely sized RPG adventure. You’ll play Kazer, a warrior who has been “accidentally fused” with a race that once threatened war on his planet. To escape the situation, he must find ancient crystals to separate himself from his new “partner.”
The game promises several things to keep players entertained, including having a vast fantasy world to explore, gorgeous visuals, and an in-depth combat system. Sure, we’ve heard this all before, and it might not live up to the hype. But there’s no harm in thinking it might turn out well!
#69 Crimson Desert
If you haven’t noticed by now, there are just as many multiplayer games on this list as there will be single-player ones. Crimson Desert puts you in the realm of Pywel, where a constant state of turmoil and uncertainty allows mercenaries like yourself to rise up and get glory and riches.
You’ll trash the harsh lands looking for work and team up with other players to take on the challenges you come across. The fight for survival is the most important thing, and so no matter what beast or man that stands against you, you strike them down so you can get to your next fight.
Do you have what it takes to live here?
#68 The Relic: First Guardian
The land you once called home is not what it used to be. The great relic that protected the land was destroyed, and through that act, darkness swept over the land and its people, thrusting them both into the void. You are the last hope to bring back what was lost. As its guardian, you must seek out the shattered pieces of the relic and bring them back together so that peace and light can once again endure.
With a unique character crafting system, you’ll use runes to increase your character’s power. Build them the way you want so that your homeland may return to what it once was.
#67 WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers
Welcome to the Ming Dynasty! This period of history was known for many things, but in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, you’ll get an alternative look at how things might have gone down. For example, the land has been infected with a plague, and that plague is causing people to turn into monsters.
That’s where you come in. You’re a “pirate warrior” who has lost her memories and must go through the land of Shu to regain them and figure out who you truly are. The twist is that you also have the disease that is creating the monsters within you. Use it to your advantage to unlock new powers and lay waste to those in front of you.
#66 The Awakener: Risen
We’ll admit that this game isn’t quite like many of the other titles on this list. Instead, The Awakener: Risen is a game that was last shown off in 2022, and we have no new information on it. In fact, we don’t even fully know if it’s still in development! Thus, we’re flying a little blind here.
So, what do we know about the game? It’s set in medieval Europe, and you play an “adventurer” who is out for revenge! Oh, and is also trying to redeem themselves, but mostly revenge!!! You’ll travel the land, fighting monsters and defying near-impossible odds to get what you deserve.
#65 Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 brings a new storyline that goes alongside the one from 2013’s Path of Exile. This new seven-act storyline leads to the same Atlas endgame as the original opus but brings new mechanics and enhancements to the original game.
This new game is set 20 years after the previous one. Society has been slowly rebuilding after the death of Kitava, but the thirst for power of some greedy persons began to corrupt Wraeclast once again. Path of Exile 2 features 19 new classes, a new Skill Gem system, a brand new range of equipment, as well as various improvements to the core system of the game.
#64 Phantom Blade Zero
Here’s another title that could be revolutionary in its own right, should the quality hold. Phantom Blade Zero impressed many people when it showed off its bleak world and intense gameplay loop. A mix of martial arts and weapon play awaits gamers, and it’s all set in a dark world where the protagonist has only 66 days to live and complete their journey.
Based on certain trailers, the game appears to be a semi-open-world title that will feature intense boss fights and a cinematic art style.
What other secrets the world holds will be up for gamers to discover when they get it on PS5 or PC.
#63 Hyper Light Breaker
If you were a fan of the beautiful pixel-style RPG from before, then you’re ready for the sequel that will take things to new heights, and new dimensions. In Hyper Light Breaker, you’ll be in the Overgrowth, where multiple areas interconnect, which leads to many enemies to fight.
As you travel around, you’ll learn the truth about this place and how you must stop the Abyss King and his minions from ruling this place. Every time you play, you’ll get a new procedurally generated world to have fun in. Build your character the way you want, and then see just how that build can take you!
#62 ARK 2
Ark 2 is a sequel to Ark: Survival Evolved, a 2017 action-adventure survival game. In the original game, you began naked on a stranded island filled with dinos. The sequel is more of a PvE adventure with what Studio Wildcard calls “Souls-like melee combat.”
The story of Ark 2 takes place on an alien planet, sometime after the events of Genesis: Part 2, the fifth and final paid DLC expansion pack released for ARK: Survival Evolved. Ark 2 is a Microsoft exclusive, so you will need to play either on PC or Xbox Series X/S if you want to see a primitive version of Vin Diesel riding a dinosaur.
#61 Killer Bean
Here’s a game we honestly can’t believe exists, and yet, Killer Bean does exist, and it’s actually aiming to be a title that is far deeper than you might think. Initially, it starts out as your “typical story” about a character named Bean, who was an assassin until they were ultimately betrayed by those whom he worked for. Naturally, they want revenge and will use all sorts of weapons to get that revenge.
The fun part is that every time you restart the game, the story will be different in terms of locations, ally characters, enemies, and so on. It’ll be fresh every time, making it almost endlessly replayable.
#60 Ferocious
Look, we get it. There are plenty of things you’ve possibly dreamed about shooting at in the fantastical sense, but you’ll never get the chance because they’re not around! You know, like dinosaurs. But in games like Ferocious, you’re going to get your chance!
In the title, you were on a ship that crashed upon a mysterious island full of dinosaurs and other threats!
There’s something very odd about this island outside of its “wildlife,” and you’ll need to go deeper and deeper into the island’s core to find out what! But with so much danger around you, can you survive it all?
#59 NEO BERLIN 2087
There are some days when you just want to do the job and move on. But sometimes, the job throws something at you that you can’t expect, leading you to learn that the job isn’t what it was supposed to be. In NEO BERLIN 2087, you’ll play a detective who is trying to find the killer of his chief.
There are multiple problems with that plan, though. First, the only clue is the chief’s daughter, and she’s missing. Second, when you do find her, you’ll discover a vast conspiracy trying to take you two out. And finally, the city itself isn’t safe, and you’ll need to work your way through and outside it just to stay alive.
#58 The Lost Wild
Have you ever feared coming into close contact with dinosaurs? If so, you might want to stay away from The Lost Wild.
The game puts you on a mysterious island that is full of dinosaurs while also being full of facilities that were clearly run by humans once upon a time. What led you to this place? What happened to the other humans that were there?
To get answers, you’ll dive deeper into the island while also being mindful of all the dinosaurs around you! Not all are threats, but plenty will come after you if you give them the chance. Get the supplies and weapons you need to survive and get out alive.
#57 Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days
The next entry in the series, Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days, seeks to expand everything that went down in the first two games so that players can be happy and new innovations can be had. For example, those who played the first game remember there was no story mode. However, one was added to the sequel. With the third game, it appears that several characters will be the focus as you attempt to survive the zombies that come for you.
Players can also expect another large array of weapons to use to take out the undead and ensure they don’t join their ranks. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
#56 Den of Wolves
Not all shooter games have to revolve solely around shooting. We’ve already proven that to you with numerous games on this list, and Den of Wolves is another one of that style. In it, you’ll not be soldiers, but thieves. Ones who live in an incredibly advanced city with numerous corporations vying to get an edge over their competitors by any means necessary.
That’s where you come in. You’ll get to take on numerous jobs and have to pick the perfect squad to take them on. You still have the option to shoot your way to victory at times, but don’t be afraid to get more nuanced to get the job done.
#55 Militsioner
Life was supposed to be simple, and you’ve done nothing of note to warrant anything that would get the attention of the police. However, suddenly, you’re arrested for something you didn’t do and are told to leave town.
In Militsioner, your actions affect everything around you, and it invokes the potential wrath of the giant police officer who looms over your every move. The game embraces the idea of having multiple paths forward, including manipulating people to give you what you want or straight-up breaking the law to get what you need.
Build relationships to get by, but remember, you can also break those relationships if you push too hard.
#54 Ascent of Ashes
In a world where dangers are everywhere, you need to be mindful of all that’s around you and know how to protect yourself and others from harm. In Ascent of Ashes, that will be your task. You’ll venture out into the world to get supplies and resources that can be brought back to your base so you can build it up and take out forces that try to destroy what you have.
But you’re not alone! Protect your fellow survivors to ensure that they make it to the next day and the one after that! The world may be ruined, but there are still reasons to fight!
#53 Blight Survival
Zombie games typically take place in the modern day. You have various melee weapons and guns to take them out while scavenging for supplies. However, Blight Survival is changing things by giving players a medieval twist. Set in the 14th century, players are going through a medieval-style survival horror game.
In this game, a new blight has swept in, allowing the dead to rise up and fight. A new war is approaching, leaving players fighting against the odds. Using armor and swords, you’ll have to venture through the lands taking out the undead. Fortunately, you’ll get some aid as this title will offer 4-player cooperative gameplay support when it does arrive in the marketplace.
#52 The Quinfall
The Quinfall has one big attribute that developers are boasting, and that’s this MMORPG will have a massive map to play within. Players are encouraged to explore this medieval world as it seems there’s plenty of content to stumble upon. It looks like players will chart out a unique adventure as just another citizen of Quinfall. What you do is up to you. Learn of the different gods that rule the universe, partake in a growing civil war that is spreading through the lands, cause chaos, or attempt to bring peace back into this world. With a massive map, there are bound to be countless quests you will find yourself in the middle of.
#51 Dungeons & Kingdoms
While a little on the nose with the title, Dungeons & Kingdoms is a special medieval RPG with you foraging for a new life while helping those in need. You see, you are part of a refugee group who had to leave their homeland to try and survive.
As you arrive in new lands, you’ll start from scratch and do what you can to make things work. Start small, then build up your village so it can slowly become the kingdom your people deserve.
The more you grow, the more dangers you’ll face. So don’t get complacent. Once you rise up, fight to keep everything and everyone in your care strong!
#50 The Wayward Realms
When a video game is created by those who truly know what they’re doing, the possibilities are endless. The Wayward Realms is one such attempt at those endless possibilities, as the team is comprised of industry veterans who wanted to make an immersive RPG experience that would get a whole new classification when they were done.
Welcome to The Archipelago, where over 100 islands await your arrival and want to see what you’ll do to them. Specifically, you can become part of a powerful nation, or you can fight to create one under your open banner!
With so many elements at play, the game will never truly be stagnant, and your choices will affect everything that happens.
#49 Mandragora
Imagine a version of the world where humanity has emphatically given up on itself. There are monsters everywhere, and people allow them to live and work hard to keep them hidden from their view. In Mandragora, that is the world that you now reside in. However, it’s also the world that you’ll fight to change once the night comes.
One of the game’s key elements is that you’ll have many options available to you as you attempt to rid the world of these beasts. How you handle your powers will be as important as how you handle the potential allies and rivals you’ll encounter on your journey.
#48 The Sinking City 2
If you’re familiar with the original game in this series, you’ll be prepared for what’s coming in The Sinking City 2. You’ll brave the depths and decrepit nature of Arkham, a city full of monsters and secrets that you need to unravel as best you can.
Oh, but there’s more than just monsters within this place. The people here are just as dangerous as they worship the occult and want nothing more than to let the monsters win. Wield numerous weapons of a magical nature and good old engineering to take them down and not let the city consume you, too.
Thanks to Unreal Engine 5, the game looks better than ever before.
#47 Killing Floor 3
In Killing Floor 3, the whole point is seriously about just blowing up a bunch of monsters to “save the world.” Will you really save the world? It doesn’t really matter, as it’s all about taking out untold waves of monsters and smiling as you do it. It’s the simple things in life that make you happy, you know?
Furthermore, this is a co-op title, so you’ll have the chance to take on all sorts of monsters with friends watching your back, making the experience even more awesome.
#46 Silent Hill F
Being honest here, we don’t know much about Silent Hill F. It was one of many titles within the franchise that Konami suddenly dropped on fans, and there hasn’t been any true follow-up about it since.
Here’s what we do know: the game is set in Japan in the 1960s, which is far earlier than the other games in the franchise. We also know that Konami sees this as a mainline entry, not a spinoff, so it’ll likely have the same kind of twisted story and tough gameplay that you would expect from the franchise.
#45 Towers of Aghasba
When you think about various “worldbuilding” titles, you typically don’t have to worry about the world itself outside of where you build things and the resources you mine to keep things going. However, in Towers of Aghasba, you’ll be tasked with minding both people and the planet to ensure life goes on.
Specifically, you’ll learn to grow villages and support the people while also tending to the numerous ecosystems of the island you call home. As you traverse the island and grow upon it, you’ll learn more about its history and how it affects everything around you.
Build the villages you want and customize everything you see to fit your style and needs. The game should see a release within 2024 through early access but we’re hopeful the full launch will come before 2025 wraps.
#44 ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders is very much a co-op shooter where you must work together in order to survive.
You play as a group of raiders on a planet that has a robot problem. By that, we mean that there are robots constantly dropping from the sky with the intent to wipe out you and your whole squad. You’ll need to load up and stick together in order to survive. Don’t go off on your own, that’ll only get you killed faster.
When you’re not fighting these beings from the sky, you’ll go and explore the world, find new items and artifacts to help you in your fight, and learn more about where you are.
How long you survive in this game is very much up to you.
#43 Ashfall
Welcome to the world of Ashfall, where an AI uprising has led to the world being destroyed by nukes! We’re sure we’ve heard of that plotline before…
Regardless, as one of the few survivors, you’ll wander through this new wasteland in a desperate bid to find the Core of Creation. The RPG elements pertain to how you handle your weapons. You’ll have nine “shooting styles” that you can pick from and evolve as you go on. Will you go in guns blazing with a weapon in each hand? Or will you focus on making every shot blow your foes away?
Experiment, explore, and have fun as you try and rescue civilization.
#42 Sniper Elite: Resistance
In war, the countries who are occupied by hostile nations often try and fight back, if for no other reason than to prove they’re not sitting idly by while others stomp on their homeland and heritage. In Sniper Elite: Resistance, you’ll take part in a resistance movement within France during World War II. As an elite sniper, you find out that the German forces are attempting to finish something that could forever change the war in their favor.
Alongside the resistance, you’ll infiltrate various German areas and get the shot you need to take down your hitlist of targets. Make every shot count, as the world may depend on it.
#41 Directive 8020
They say that in space, no one can hear you scream, but what if you’re within a colony ship in space? Wouldn’t that change the dynamic? In Directive 8020, the latest episode of a certain horror anthology, you are part of a colony craft that heads to a new planet where humanity might be able to survive.
However, everything goes wrong when the ship crash lands, and you soon find out that an alien threat has infected your crew! With its imitation skills, it can become any crew member, making every decision potentially life-threatening!
Will you be able to survive this deep space threat?
#40 2XKO
It shouldn’t be a surprise that someone like Riot Games is taking its beloved franchise into the fighting genre. After all, they have an incredible collection of characters from their MOBA, and that means that they can pick and choose the best ones to put into a 2V2 fighting title. The fact that it’s free-to-play is just a bonus for fans like you!
So, as the name suggests, you’ll pick two Legends and then have them duke it out against other Legends in an epic fight. Figure out who from the roster fits your playstyle, and then work with the fun combat system to get the KO and the win!
#39 Titan Quest II
Have you ever wanted to become a “Greek legend” and show your skills against the gods themselves? In Titan Quest II, you’ll get that chance! The corrupt goddess Nemesis is on a rampage and is using the mighty Thread of Fate to doom her opposers. By the way, YOU are one of her opposers!
As you travel against a special version of Greece, you’ll take on monsters big and small and will have to prove yourself worthy of the fight. There are numerous ways to take on this world, and there are many secrets to be found if you know where to look. Seek out the best path forward, and save the day!
#38 The First Berserker: Khazan
There are many tales of heroes who reach the pinnacle of their power and fame, only to be struck down by someone they didn’t expect. In The First Berserker: Khazan, you’ll experience that very story through the eyes of Khazan. He was a powerful warrior who gave his all for his country, only for those who led the nation to betray him for unknown reasons.
Now, cast into exile, you’ll slowly start your march back to your former homeland and see how quickly you can unravel this conspiracy. Unleash your fury and berserker power to show why they should’ve never broken your trust and why you aren’t one who can be put down so easily.
#37 The Seven Deadly Sins Origin
If you were a fan of the anime or manga, you’ll want to get The Seven Deadly Sins Origin game when it arrives. It takes place in the earliest parts of the story, where the titular group were caught after a “coup attempt” and sent to prison. Then, a decade later, they’re recruited by the kingdom’s princess to try and stop another coup attempt.
You’ll play as many of the group and other characters as you wander the land, fight enemies, and stop the coup.
With each member having different abilities, you’ll want to do your best to pick the best squad to get the job done.
#36 Solo Leveling:ARISE
If you’ve been a fan of Webtoon, then you know what this game is about, as it’s an action RPG set within the world of the beloved best-selling manga hit. Solo Leveling:ARISE showcases Jinwoo’s journey from being the “weakest hunter” to being the best around. Don’t worry, he’ll have all the broken anime stuff you’d expect from a protagonist like this.
Anyway, you’ll play as him and interact with other characters from his universe as they attempt to defeat monsters and save the day. Plus, the game features all-new stories that were made specifically for the title, so that means it’s very much an extension of the original Webtoon.
#35 Where Winds Meet
Where Winds Meet is an action RPG with a martial arts twist set in 10th-century China, it’ll also be an open-world title, so you’ll be exploring the ancient land on your journey.
But what is your journey? You’ll play as a wandering swordsman who finds himself at the crux of the dangers dividing the land. Not the least is a land divided due to a past war.
Now, you must wander and make choices that’ll determine your fate and the fate of China. For example, will you be a noble swordsman who protects the innocent people of the land? Or will you be selfish and only fight for your own goals? The choice is yours.
#34 Project Mugen
Here’s another game where we honestly don’t know too much about the game, as can be seen by the fact that it has “Project” still in its name! What we do know is that Project Mugen aims to be a very open urban city game in that the city itself is the open world you’ll be traveling through.
You’ll play a paranormal investigator, one who is charged with roaming the city and seeing what pops up within it. That might not sound so hard, but the “anomalies” that continually crossover will cause serious problems. Use your special skills and team up with other players to see what this city is truly like.
#33 Unrecord
Arguably one of the most unique games on this list, Unrecord will put you in the role of a cop, but with a key twist. Instead of most games where you’ll see things through his eyes, you’ll specifically see things through the “eyes” of his body cam.
Through that footage and your choices, you’ll guide your officer through multiple events and attempt to learn the truth about what’s going on around you.
How you get through the game is entirely up to you. You can be a force of nature and blast your way through, or be stealthy and avoid all conflicts. The choice is yours.
#32 ExeKiller
When the world itself is broken, and you’re desperate to just get through it, you might turn to certain things and not ask questions about why you do them. That is the case with the man known as ExeKiller, who is a bounty hunter for a corporation in this post-apocalyptic world. He did his job without question for many years, and then, a certain truth puts everything into perspective and leads him down a much different path.
Where that path leads is up to you. You’ll work your way through this barren world and seek out what you need. Just know that there are plenty of fights awaiting you on this journey to truth.
#31 Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era
Now, here is a franchise that is all about the strategy and wants you to partake in it in numerous ways. Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will do something that the franchise hasn’t tried so far. Specifically, it’ll take you to an all-new continent that has only been mentioned in past games.
This place is ripe for the building but also ripe with dangers and new species to come into contact with. The strategy game has multiple modes to play in, including multiple versions of the campaign mode where you can increase the difficulty by restricting gameplay features. Either way, your next quest in this world is about to begin!
#30 Anno 117: Pax Romana
Next, we have another franchise that was literally built in the strategy genre, and has never been afraid to try new things. In Anno 117: Pax Romana, you’ll take on the role of a Roman governor within the year 117 AD. You’ll start out as a leader of a couple of provinces and then decide where you want to go from there. You could just do what is expected of you and help grow the empire, or you could venture off and see if there is something greater that the Roman Empire can be.
Either way, your guiding hand will influence the future, so be careful with each step you make.
#29 Splitgate 2
Splitgate 2 is the perfect kind of shooter title if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush and something fun to do with friends. It takes the idea of portal creation and turns it into a sport that fans of this game world can’t get enough of. You’ll start out as a 4v4 crew, trying to take down other teams that you come across within the sport.
However, the game lets you know that your ultimate goal is to be the best singular player in this event, which means you’ll have to “turn it up” if you want to get those accolades. Think you can make it happen?
#28 The Midnight Walkers
Welcome to the Liberty Grand Center. Here, the danger is both near and far, and it’s not solely zombie-related. The twist with The Midnight Walkers is that you’ll be put into this place and then randomly sent to various floors where you’ll have to do battle against zombies and other threats. Your goal is to get through eight floors with each run so you can get loot. With that loot, you can trade for better items and see if you can do even better the second time around.
Just be warned, floors will fill up with gas, and the others playing the game with you could be a threat or hindrance if you’re not careful.
#27 Judas
When your world is literally falling apart around you, and it’s your fault, how far will you go to fix it? Or will you attempt to do it all alone to get out alive?
In Judas, you’ll play someone onboard a rapidly breaking starship. A plan is in place to get out alive, but you’ll need to work with others who are your enemies to get it done. So, what path will you choose? Will you work with them and hope you can get out safely?
Or will you betray them and ensure your survival above all else? The choice is yours.
#26 Jurassic World Evolution 3
Now, here’s a series that has gotten some surprisingly long legs despite certain films not being the quality they should be. Jurassic World Evolution 3 is the next installment of the dinosaur management franchise, which means you’ll need to build a brand new park for these dinos and then ensure that they STAY in those pens. Seriously, don’t let them out.
More than likely, you’ll get not only familiar dinosaurs but familiar faces from the films that highlight how everything is connected. Thus, you’ll likely see key improvements from the last game to this one. So, start building your park, get all the dinos you can, and don’t get eaten!
#25 Pragmata
We honestly don’t know that much about the title, including the various aliens we’re going to interact with. We know it’s coming to PlayStation 5 and will feature a “unique relationship” between an astronaut and a little girl, but it’s very unclear what else will happen in the title.
Capcom is making the game, and it definitely feels like something they would make, given the shots we’ve seen. The title promises “profound storytelling” and fun gameplay similar to other titles in their arsenals, but we don’t know when it will arrive or when we’ll hear more about it. So enjoy what you have for the time being.
#24 The Alters
They say that at times, you have no one to trust but yourself. In The Alters, you’ll quickly find out just how realistic that phrase can be, even if it is due to some sci-fi shenanigans.
You play Jan, a man who is trapped on a planet by himself and has to figure out a way to get off it. The tasks he must do cannot be accomplished by one man, so he’ll use a special device to bring in variations of himself from the timeline that have done different things and, thus, are different from who he is now.
He must work with these “Alters” to save himself while also learning how to live with the choices he has and hasn’t made.
#23 Fable
Are you ready for an adventure where you get to determine who you become? The Fable franchise as a whole has mostly been based around this concept, and the upcoming reboot aims to fulfill much of what those original titles intended to do without making the same mistakes.
While details are still a bit scarce, we know that it will follow the RPG theme of building your character from scratch and then guiding them on a quest through a fantasy realm. You’ll fight giants, former heroes, and more on your quest to become what you feel is best.
Be who you want to be, and see how that works out for you.
#22 Doom: The Dark Ages
Are you ready to get Doom-ed? Sure, we’re all Doom-ed anyway, but can’t we have fun with our doom? Jokes aside, Doom: The Dark Ages is a fun twist on the formula, as it’s not set in the far future where humanity keeps getting involved with the underworld. Instead, it takes place in the past, where we’ll uncover the official history of the Doomslayer! Oh yeah, this will be good.
Just as important, because of its setting, you’ll get all-new weapons to dice up enemies and show them why you’re the slayer you don’t mess with. Good times, everybody!
#21 Witcher Remake
Are you ready to become Geralt of Rivia once again? One of the ironies of the trilogy from CD Projekt Red is that the first game, and technically the second, depending on who you talk to, very much flew under the radar of most people. One of the reasons is likely due to the technology of the time and the game not “feeling what it could be,” which obviously was rectified in the third entry.
However, with The Witcher Remake that the developer has confirmed, you’ll get a new chance to be Geralt again while also taking on his first adventure in a new light. Hope you got enough potions!
#20 Borderlands 4
How would you define the Borderlands saga? You could easily say it’s a franchise that LOVES being a shooter so much that it gives players millions upon millions of gun options to choose from, all so that they can have the best weapons possible to deal with the numerous enemies they come across. Oh, and you’ll have plenty of enemies to deal with in this next game.
While we don’t know who those enemies are in Borderlands 4. However, we have heard from Gearbox Software that it’ll be a graver threat than anything you’ve witnessed before. Thus, once again, there ain’t no rest for the wicked.
#19 State of Decay 3
Now, here’s a game that was dormant for quite some time and only popped up again recently. State of Decay 3 will continue the gameplay style of the previous entry, where you’ll be set in a world full of zombie threats and terrors, and you’re part of the crew trying to survive it. The good news is that you’re not alone. You’ll have a group or community at your back to help you work through this post-apocalyptic world and attempt to make a working community.
The bad news is that here, death is permanent. So, if you make a wrong move or send the wrong person out for a task, it could end badly.
#18 Dune: Awakening
Are you ready to seize your own destiny and see if you can survive a world with many dangers? Dune: Awakening is an MMO set in the world of Arrakis. You’ll create your character and then set them off on a journey that’ll take you to familiar and unknown places.
What will you choose to be among the sands? Will you attempt to do things alone so you can never be betrayed? Or will you find allies and attempt to tip the balance of power in your favor?
A vast world is waiting to be explored, so look all over to see where you may go next, and you never know who you might meet.
#17 Little Nightmares III
That’s right! The beloved horror series is back! This time around, the dark journey through another mysterious world will have you playing as Low & Alone. They are trapped in a place called Nowhere, and they must work together to figure out a path out!
But as they go through the unique entity called The Spiral, they’ll have to face various illusions, monsters, and terrors. Plus, something out there is coming for the two of them! Can they make it out alive? Will they learn even darker truths as they go on? You’ll have to dive in and find out!
#16 Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
When you think of most video games or even certain movie and TV genres, you think of the “stereotypical action hero or protagonist” who must blast his way through enemies to achieve his goal at any cost!
But in games like Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, it’s not just about the action. It’s about the stealth. You need to be able to sneak by enemies, infiltrate locations, and do whatever you need to so you can be “invisible” in their eyes.
Set within a new version of the Cold War, and with enemies everywhere, Naked Snake will be at the ultimate disadvantage. Don’t worry, he knows how to turn things around. He’ll be a “Big Boss” one day…
#15 Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Are you up for a long adventure that can take you in various directions? Good! We have the perfect game for you, then. There’s a massive world to explore in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and the team absolutely wants you to take the time to go and explore it.
Once you’re ready to do the “real game,” you’ll start your journey as Henry, who lost his family and is on a mission of revenge. You’ll become a rebel and attempt to overthrow the corrupt kingdom and knights that took everything from you.
Your choices will affect how the land of Bohemia looks at you and how your journey turns out.
#14 Dying Light: The Beast
Not every beast is a bad one. Sometimes, it just needs the right host to unleash some carnage with. In Dying Light: The Beast, you play as the first game’s protagonist, Kyle Crane. After his actions in the OG title, he was captured and experimented on mercilessly for a decade.
Once he got free, he soon found himself in Castor Woods, where a group of people are trying to make a living upon, despite all that’s around them. As you go on your quest for revenge, you’ll fight off monsters, help those in need, and literally release the beast within so you can do some real damage. Have fun!
#13 Assassin’s Creed Shadows
This one is a perfect entry for #13, as it’s had a rather unlucky cycle ever since it was announced.
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll play as two characters, Naoe and Yasuke, and attempt to steer the once proud nation back into the light.
For Naoe, she is a young woman from a village that was “burned in the name of unification,” so she takes up the mantle of Ninja to fight back and seek vengeance. Then, there’s Yasuke, a famed African Samurai who hopes to see Japan become more than a land of greed and power.
Ubisoft has a lot riding on this game, which is why they delayed it into 2025. Hopefully, they make the most of this extra time they’ve given themselves.
#12 The Outer Worlds 2
When Obsidian Entertainment decided to take things to the stars for a unique RPG adventure, they absolutely delivered. They gave fans a fun, immersive, variety-filled campaign that took them to numerous worlds and areas they couldn’t even have dreamed of before. And now, they’re doing it again with The Outer Worlds 2.
While plenty of details are still unknown, we do know that the game will be set in a new star system with new planets and a new cast of characters. That means you won’t be able to expect what’s coming. That’s a good thing, though! After all, Obsidian knows how to make RPGs, so it’s unlikely they’ll disappoint here.
#11 Mafia: The Old Country
While we don’t know too much about Mafia: The Old Country, including the gameplay that the title will have, we can reflect on the previous games in the franchise to highlight what is likely coming.
What we do know about the title is it’ll be set in Italy, long before the gangs of yore and lore were able to crossover into the “New World.” That means you’ll be there at the beginning when some of the legendary crime families were born and had to deal with their rivals the old-fashioned way.
You’ll likely start as a low-ranking member of a family and work your way up through it. So, be ready to do what you need to for the family.
#10 South of Midnight
Mythology is something that has driven numerous games to great success, and South of Midnight is hoping to bank on that, albeit with a much different mythos than you would predict. In the game, you’ll be in the American Deep South, where a woman named Hazel is tasked with fixing the evil that has come across the land and ruined her home.
As a weaver, she’ll have to deal with both the environment and the various spirits that inhabit it to see what can be done. Along the way, she’ll learn more about her family’s history and how it’s tied to the area she’s in.
#9 Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
While it may be true that every year of life is marked with death, in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the death of many more comes with each year that passes. There is a “Paintress” who paints a number on a tree, and all who are that age die on the spot, and that number counts down every year. With the population and hope to die with each rotation, a bold group aims to kill the Paintress before another number can be put on her cursed tree.
You’ll travel through the land, gain allies, and find out the truth behind past attempts to stop her. Everything is riding on your party; don’t let the world down.
#8 Hollow Knight: Silksong
We know the questions you want to ask, so we’ll just get right to them.
Do we have a true update on Hollow Knight: Silksong? No. Are we EVER going to get an update on this title? We honestly don’t have an answer for that. Fans have been talking about this game for a long time simply because we know it’s been in development for years. The team says it’s not canceled, and yet, we haven’t gotten a release date or window in a long time.
Whenever it does release, it’ll be one that gives fans not only a new knight to play with but a new world to explore and new adventures to be had. We just have to keep being patient until it’s out.
#7 Perfect Dark
Now, here’s a title that many have been wanting to see for a while. Perfect Dark is the reboot of the classic N64 franchise, and that means Johanna Dark is back to try to save the world from incredible threats.
While details about the game are still a little light, the trailer that dropped earlier in 2024 does point to the game being at least visually stunning. Of course, there are still question marks about quality, especially since there have been many reports about the “issues” the game has undergone to this point.
However, if it has all worked out? Then power to them.
#6 Battlefield 7
Let’s go to war now with Battlefield 7. The irony here is that we don’t actually know much about the game yet. We know it’s been announced and that EA is aiming to push it to “new heights,” which is what they say about every new game in the series, and that multiplayer will be important. That’s not a surprise either, as the games that came before sometimes revolved more around the multiplayer than anything else. That is its M.O. in many respects.
That being said, EA hasn’t always been good on living up to its own hype, especially with its FPS series. So, you might want to keep expectations in check for this one.
#5 Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
Next up, we have Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, a title that honestly doesn’t need much of an introduction due to how it’s been keeping people occupied for a long time with its world-building gameplay.
We mean that literally. For 20+ years, this franchise has been one of the best worldbuilding titles mixed with strategy elements ever. While it naturally had its highs and lows, the game reinvented itself once again with its 6th entry and blew people away with how great it was. So now imagine how far they’ll go for the 7th entry.
They know fans really want to enjoy this entry, as they did with the last one, so expect some fun additions and changes here.
#4 Mass Effect 5
There was a time when Bioware was the king of RPGs, and they had epic titles on the PC that gamers could enjoy.
Yet, in recent times, they’ve really struggled. However, with Mass Effect 5, many truly hope things are about to turn around. After the disaster of the 4th title, Bioware has promised a “return to form” that gamers can enjoy.
Of course, we’ve heard such promises before from various development teams, including Bioware. We’ve only gotten the smallest of teases about this game, and it’s not even confirmed to be coming out in 2025! Yet, we’ll keep hoping…for now…
#3 Gears of War: E-Day
Every story has a beginning, and in Gears of War: E-Day, you’ll finally see the beginning of the story that led to Marcus Fenix and the rest of the Gears unit fighting their seemingly never-ending battle against the Locust.
You’ll be taken to the mythical “E-Day,” when everything went wrong, and humanity was put on the back foot. As Marcus, Dom, and others, you’ll see the key moments that led to the initial game in the series. How did things get so bad so quickly? What did they have to do to make it out of that first day? What don’t we know from that period? Play the game and learn the truth.
#2 Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
There are several key points in Marvel Comics where special moments were known to have happened. In Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, we’ll get an alternative look at one of those moments as we head to the Marvel universe version of World War II and see how certain powered beings clashed and attempted to stop an evil from rising.
The game will feature a young Captain America and a version of the Black Panther all converging in Paris, among other players, to learn what is going on with Hydra and how they can be stopped.
By all indications, this game will look incredible when it releases. We can’t wait.
#1 Monster Hunter Wilds
Many are already calling this the “most-anticipated title of 2025.” So, why not put it at the top spot?
Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest version of Capcom’s beloved monster-killing series, and it’s only getting bigger and better with improved graphics and gameplay mechanics.
Once again, you’ll be part of a monster-hunting guild and set out to complete quests to take on massive beasts to help the people of the world.
Not only can you hunt monsters with various weapons, but you can team up with other players to try and even the odds in your favor. Given how successful Capcom has been with this series as of late, you can expect a lot of content post-launch, too!
