7. THE GALLIPOLI CAMPAIGN:
PREMISE:
So this one’s a little different. The Gallipoli Campaign was a beach landing that started on April 25, 1915. Thousands of young Australian and New Zealand men invaded what is now known as Turkey. For eight months, alongside Britain, Ireland, India and France. It was a smaller part of World War I, which didn’t end up making a whole lot of a difference, but the interest here lies in diversity. I think Call of Duty could stay fresh by not only going back in time and covering historical battles, but by switching the nation of that you play aswell. The ANZAC (Australian New Zealand Army Corps) were a massive force that laid waste to the nation when sieging its shores.
WEAPONS:
The weapons here would be almost entirely the same as World War I which was listed above, except the Kiwis and Aussies would be able to toss hard biscuits, vegemite and shrimps (not on the “barbie”) but instead towards the enemy.
LIKELIHOOD:
Look, I don’t think Call of Duty plans to visit the Gallipoli Campaign anytime soon, and I don’t think there’s enough there for a full campaign per say, but pack this into a World War I game, let us play multiple historical battles, with every nation and then maybe you’ll have us interested, some us at least- probably not that 12-year-old kid that f**ked your mom though.
