4. AMERICAN CIVIL WAR:
PREMISE:
The American Civil War took place between 1861 and 1865. War broke out when 7 slave states declared their secession from the U.S. and formed the Confederate States of America. War broke out in April of ’61 when Fort Sumner was sieged. The war ended in 1865 when all of the Confederate armies surrendered. How would the American Civil War fit into a Call of Duty title you ask? Well, we’re not quite sure either. It was an incredibly territorial battle that meant a huge amount for the future of the United States of America.
WEAPONS:
In terms of gameplay, The American Civil War would be fairly boring. It’s just an outdated version of World War I, but fought above ground, for the most part. The variety of weapons used included edged weapons like knives and swords, firearms such as muskets, breech loaders and repeating weapons. There was also the invention of the early grenade and machine gun.
LIKELIHOOD:
The American Civil War is important, and it should be covered. Whether it would work or not for a fast paced shooter like Call of Duty we’ll never know. It’s highly unlikely the franchise will ever visit the mid-1800’s
