10 Call of Duty Games We’d Love To See Made

April 30, 2016 by Mason Cade Packer

Where do you think Call of Duty should head next? Leave us a comment and let us know!

1. THE WAR ON DRUGS

File-This July 23, 2013 file photo shows armed members of a local self-defense group wearing white T-shirts with the slogan “For a Free Aquila” stand at a street corner in the town of Aquila, Mexico. At least 23 bodies were found in two neighboring states in western Mexico where drug cartels, vigilantes and security forces have been fighting for much of the year, authorities said Saturday Aug. 17, 2013. The state prosecutor in Michoacan said that nine bodies, hands bound and shot, were found on an abandoned property near the town of Buenavista Tomatlan along with a sign indicating they may have been members of the Knights Templar cartel. PREMISE:

The Mexican Drug War, also known as the Mexican War on Drugs is an ongoing low-intensity asymmetric war between the Mexican Government and various drug trafficking syndicates. So it’s easy to see how an incredible narrative could be told here. Just imagine the storytelling of something like Battlefield: Hardline, which also dealt with S.W.A.T, Armed Police Forces and drug trafficking, among many other things, heists and Cuban food included. I think this is one of the strongest and relative Call of Duty ideas floating around. It’s almost too perfect for a Call of Duty title, it even has the franchise standard 3 main factions, the DEA, Mexican Armed Forces and the Cartels.

WEAPONS:

In terms of weapons, don’t think so small. The cartels are equipt with gold plated AK-47’s, grenades, landmines, convoys loaded with armed men, Far Cry 4 style flying drug mule choppers, and lots and lots of guns ranging from rifles, submachine guns, pistols, and even reports of a German MG34 Machine Gun from World War II. Wow.

LIKELIHOOD:

I think there’s a lot more happening in the Mexican Drug War than most think, which would give a Call of Duty campaign plenty of content to cover. As for multiplayer, we have access to strongholds, hideouts, various weapons and landscapes and factions, so yeah, this would work. My only suggestion, a multiplayer perk: Cocaine – Snort it up, have reduced damage for 20 seconds, duel-wield assault rifles, spit grenades out of your mouth, breath fire and see through walls.
