Super Mario Wonder: Where To Find Every Collectible In ‘Bulrush Coming Through’

October 25, 2023 by Adam Carr

Guide to every collectable to be found in ‘Bulrush Coming Through’ for Super Mario Wonder’s first world, including its secret exit.

Table of Contents[Hide][Show]
  • Purple Coin #1
  • Purple Coin #2
  • Wonder Seed #1
  • Flag & Wonder Seed #2
  • Purple Coin #3
  • Wonder Seed #3

The fourth level in Super Mario Wonder’s First World introduces some new concepts – this time, you are dealing with block-destroying Bulrushes who are quick to anger. If you want to get all the Collectibles in this level, you are going to have to use them to your advantage.

In this guide, we are going to walk you through how to find every Purple Coin and Wonder Seed in ‘Bulrush Coming Through’ so you can get 100% completion. Like with ‘Piranha Plants On Parade’, there are two exits to this level, so be prepared to play this stage twice.

Purple Coin #1

The first Purple Coin can be easily missed. Once you see it, slow down. There are two Bulrushes to the right that will charge to their deaths if you move too recklessly to the right. You need at least one of them alive to get the coin. You will see a tree to your right. Jump on it. It will jiggle, indicating that this tree can be manipulated. Bum Stomp this tree twice to lower it far enough to block the death pit.

Activate the Bulrushes to break the blocks and gain access to the Purple Coin.

Purple Coin #2

The second Purple Coin also requires some sneaky tree manipulation. As you progress through the level, you will jump on a tree that jiggles like before. Bum Stomp the tree to be launched to a secret area in the clouds. Carefully move to your right, jumping between clouds, until you can grab the Purple Coin.

Wonder Seed #1

This is where things get a bit wild. After the half-way flag, you will see a glowing set of blocks in the sky. Head to the right to trigger a Bulrush. It will launch itself into the blocks, revealing a Wonder Seed and triggering this level’s event – a stampede.

Ride the Stampede. You can grab loot along the way, but you won’t be able to grab the third Purple Coin. You will also notice the stampede destroys a Flag Pole. After a short ride, you will see the Wonder Seed on some clouds. Jump off the Stampede to claim it.

Flag & Wonder Seed #2

Complete the level as standard, and use Sprint, Jump, and Spin to grab the Flag. You will then get your second Wonder Seed. The results screen will show a missing Seed, however.

Purple Coin #3

Head back into the level and then get to the place where you triggered the Stampede. Don’t trigger it, and play the level normally. You will eventually see the final Purple Coin blocked by some, well, blocks. Simply lure a Bulrush over to destroy the blocks and then grab the coin.

Wonder Seed #3

Finish the level as normal. You will come across the Flag Pole that was destroyed last time. Use the Bulrush to get enough height to reach the top and claim your final Wonder Seed.
