June was an interesting month for gaming on many levels. Between big releases and major showcases from the biggest publishers, there was much to discuss. If you think you missed a significant release, we got your back. These aren’t in any order. We just want to show you how many big titles came out last month that you might be interested in playing.
#10 F1 23
Who doesn’t love to go fast? When it comes to the F1 series, you could arguably go faster than any other circuit out there, and that means you have to be the best to get behind the wheel.
With F1 2023, you’ll get to be in the rides of the best cars from the biggest clubs and try to race your way to glory. You’ll not only be trying to win races but win the entire F1 season. Go through each race just as the real-world drivers did, and see if you can match up to their level.
Plus, take things online and see how you match up against rivals from all over!
#9 Six Days in Fallujah
Plenty of FPS games are set in various war periods, but how many do you know that included actual Marines and other soldiers in the design process? Six Days in Fallujah did that to create a real glimpse into what these men and women went through during the Iraqi War.
One thing to note is the game isn’t making light of the war by just dropping you into fights. Every encounter you have is based on a story from either a soldier who was there or a civilian who witnessed and survived the fight.
Every mission will be different as the world will reset to make you as blind as the Marines were when they went to the next building. So work together and come out alive.
#8 BattleBit Remastered
If you’re tired of the “realistic” war titles on the market and want something a little more fun and chaotic, then BattleBit Remastered is the game for you.
The game is a low-poly title that banks on you and many other players lighting up the battlefield to have a good time and see who survives.
Because of the low-poly approach, the game can handle 254 players in a single server! That means you’ll need to talk with your team constantly and weed out the enemy to get through each fight.
With numerous weapons and vehicles at your disposal, each fight will be special, chaotic, and a total blast.
#7 20 Minutes Till Dawn
There are many games out there that are built on the concept of “having a time limit to survive.” But 20 Minutes Till Dawn was one of the first to do it, and it arguably does it the best.
The game is simple. You’ll create a character and give them a set of weapons and skills to take on monsters and survive the twenty minutes of each round. If you survive, you win! If you don’t, better luck next time.
The thrill of the game is trying different characters and builds to find out what works best and whether you can do better than your last run.
So don’t be afraid to dive in and try things out!
#6 Brotato
When your ship crash lands on an alien world, survival is easily the first thing to think about. But it’s hard to think when you have swarms of aliens trying to take you down! In Brotato, you play as, well, Brotato and must use an arsenal of weapons to fight off these aliens and last long enough for your rescue ship to arrive.
The twist is that Brotato can use six different weapons at once, and you can auto-aim them so they take out enemies while you move around.
With each wave you beat, you can buy and craft weapons and skills to help you in the next wave. Think you can survive?
#5 Aliens: Dark Descent
When battling Xenomorphs, there’s only one rule you need to follow: Kill them, or they’ll kill you.
In Aliens: Dark Descent, you’ll play a commander of a group of Colonial Marines who are sent to deal with an outbreak of Xenomorphs. They’ll come after you, and you must use your squads’ weapons and abilities to the fullest to wipe them out and stay alive.
The real-time combat demands that you think fast and give good orders to make it out alive. Plus, the Xenomorphs aren’t the only threat you’ll face!
Overcome the odds and build up your squad so they can handle whatever challenge is thrown at them.
#4 Amnesia: The Bunker
World War I was already a terrifying time to be alive, but in Amnesia: The Bunker, you’ll find a new level of horror by going into a place where the only way to escape is to put yourself in danger constantly.
You play a French soldier who is trapped inside a bunker where a monster is on the prowl. You must explore this bunker, get supplies and resources, and quickly figure out how to get out of this place alive.
If you die, you must start all over again. Use your saferoom to gather yourself before you head back out, and use whatever resources you have to open new pathways or escape the terror within.
#3 Street Fighter 6
Are you ready to fight?
Street Fighter 6 is the game that Capcom fans have been waiting for, and it doesn’t disappoint. With a refined combat system and multiple modes to play in right from the start, you won’t be lacking options.
Plus, the “World Tour” story mode will let you create a Street Fighter of your own and then train with the franchise’s legends to learn their moves and create a unique fighting style!
Then, when you’re ready to take your skills to the next level, head online and partake in 1-on-1 matches, tournaments, and more.
Capcom made this game accessible to players of all skill levels, so don’t be afraid to try it out!
#2 Diablo IV
Given all that Blizzard has put both their own team and fans through over the last few years, they really needed a win. Luckily for them, Diablo IV has been that victory in more ways than one.
Not only did it review well, but it’s already the fastest-selling game in the company’s history! That’s quite a fit.
In the title, you’ll be caught once again in the struggle been the worlds above and below when a power vacuum needs to be filled. Create your character, and work alone or with others to find the hordes of both sides to try and come out on top.
Grind your way to new powers, and see how well you can cooperate with other players to accomplish grander missions!
#1 Final Fantasy XVI
Many consider Final Fantasy XVI the biggest game of June. It’s the newest entry in Square Enix’s beloved franchise, and the company was trying to do big things with it.
According to players, they’ve succeeded. The game delivers from the gripping story to the gorgeous visuals and the action-focused combat system. It’s already selling well on the PS5, and we all know it’ll eventually come to PC.
You’ll be a man on a revenge mission after various events lead you to try to bring down kingdoms and unleash the powers within. Do you have what it takes to stand tall against both monsters and men? Dive in and find out!
