Fallout 4 Guide: How To Access Automatron DLC

March 22, 2016 by Ryan Parreno

This is a guide on how to access the Fallout 4 Automatron DLC.

Are you ready for Fallout 4 Automatron ? It turns out accessing it is not just a matter of downloading and installing the DLC. This guide will explain how to make your way to some robot-bashing goodness.

Automatron can be purchased on its own or as part of the Season pass. If you bought the Fallout 4 Season Pass on PlayStation 4, you have to find the pack on PlayStation Store and initiate the download manually.

When the DLC has been downloaded, load Fallout 4, but do not go to your save. Check if Automatron is listed in the add-ons section of the main menu. In case it’s not, confirm that you’re signed on to your platform, and restart your system.

You need to have left Vault 111, or in other words, finished the game’s introduction, to access Automatron. Once you do, you will find it listed as one of the quests in your Pip-Boy. If you are a beginner player, you may not want to take the mission immediately because it was designed with a high level of challenge.

To start Automatron, open up the Pip-Boy’s radio and listen to the distress signal that gives you the mission. You should be able to hear it from anywhere in the Commonwealth.

What follows below is a mild spoiler, so if you prefer to figure this out on your own, you can pass on from here.

The first part of the mission is to locate where the ambush happened. The radio message will say it happened in Wattz Consumer Electonics. Wattz Consumer Electonics is found north of the Institute and CIT’s ruins. Depending on where you were, you might have received a marker on your Pip-boy’s map or not. You can always check your map to confirm where it is anytime.

Fallout 4 Automatron is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can learn about one of Automatron’s robot companions here. Bethesda has revoked the ‘free’ season passes that came up due to error.
