Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course – How to Beat the Moonshine Mob

July 5, 2022 by Mike Worby

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is filled with challenging and inventive boss battles and one of the first is the Moonshine Mob.

After years of waiting, Cuphead: The Delcious Last Course is at last upon us. The DLC comes packed with new bosses, weapons, and even a new character in the form of Ms. Chalice. One of the first stages available to you when you arrive at Inkwell Isle IV is the one that features the Moonshine Mob and we’re going to give you all the advice you need to best this motley crew of cops and robbers.

How to Beat the Moonshine Mob in Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

1st Phase (Spider)

For this phase you’ll have to jump between the three floors while shooting at the spider. When the police or other robbers show up, you can shoot and kill them as well. You’ll notice that sometimes the spider is on the phone, when he is that’s going to be a prime time to shoot him as he’ll stop at some point and just stand there gabbing away.

When the explosives come down you can detonate them by getting close and then running off quickly. Finally, this Cuphead spider will also toss a caterpillar bouncing around the arena occasionally and this projectile can also be destroyed.

2nd Phase (Gun Moll)

This second phase is really tricky. As cops and barrels run across the top and bottom levels, the gun moll will dance in the middle area. When the music scratches, the rays of sound will turn yellow and that’s your cue to get moving. Watch which direction they’re going (clockwise or counter-clockwise) and move around the arena accordingly to avoid taking damage. It’s a bit tough to get used to to but you’ll get the hang of it after a few tries.

3rd Phase (Anteater)

This phase is also tricky as it starts off by suggesting the weak point is under the hat, where the Cuphead snail boss is. Though you can take a quick few shots at the snail, your actual target is the snout of the anteater. Keep moving around the arena as it pops out from the six entry points and shoot at it whenever you can. The homing blast might be your best bet here. Also, remember that you can parry on the tongue to build up your special attack extra fast. Watch out for the fake knockout that comes at the end of this phase.

4th Phase (Snail)

This final phase is really easy. Just watch for his voice bubbles and move out of the way as you finish the boss off with a few more well-aimed shots.
