Today, Nintendo announced that it would be hosting another one of its semi-regular Indie World showcases. The presentations highlight smaller games that are headed to the Switch and usually have a surprise or two up their sleeves. Sometimes that’s a shadow drop of a game (a “and it’s available right now!” moment) or sometimes highly anticipated indie titles get trailers.
The usual tune for Nintendo Indie Worlds is currently being sung by many online hoping for any news about Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game has gone radio silent for quite some time, so it feels like there’s always a possibility that Team Cherry will be showcasing the game at any of these types of events.
While Silksong is a popular wishful pick, there are plenty of other great indies on the horizon that the showcase will be highlighting.
Where to Watch the May 2022 Nintendo Indie World Showcase
Those looking to watch the May 11th Indie World Showcase can find it on the official Nintendo YouTube channel right here. The show will be starting at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET and, according to Nintendo, will be “roughly 20 minutes of information on upcoming indie games headed to Nintendo Switch.” There isn’t much information on what fans can expect from the showcase other than that, but as mentioned above, it seems like a safe bet to assume that it will follow the format of previous Indie World Showcases.
In addition to the official Nintendo stream, many of gaming’s biggest news outlets will be streaming the event and giving some commentary following its conclusion. If you’re interested in the commentary, make sure to check the official YouTube channels of the outlets tomorrow before the event to see which will be co-streaming.
