Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: How to Upgrade Carrying Capacity

March 31, 2022 by Peter Hunt Szpytek

Making way for more loot.

Although Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands differs from the mainline Borderlands series, most of its technical gameplay elements remain unchanged. The combat still focuses heavily on guns, progression is still made using a skill tree, and the player will be picking up and sorting through mountains of loot throughout their playthrough.

It won’t take long for the player to have filled up their backpack with guns, wards, melee weapons, rings, and armor, so questions regarding backpack upgrades are some of the first asked during a playthrough of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. On top of that, players might find themselves running out of ammo in the early hours which can put them in a tough situation. Luckily, ammo pickups are scattered just about everywhere across the diverse areas of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, but upgrading ammo carrying capacity would be a huge help as well.

Fortunately for everyone, getting SDUs to increase carrying capacity is really simple in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

How to Increase Carying Capacity in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

SDUs are an established part of the Borderlands franchise as they upgrade the players carrying capacity. Luckily, upgrades are introduced pretty early into Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The player will need to have completed the “Hero of Brighthoof” main mission which takes place in the early hours of the game. Once Brighthoof is restored to its former glory, head to the blacksmith shop. On the far wall of the shop, the player will see a storefront that allows them to get SDUs.

SDUs cost a little bit of cash but don’t cost too much when starting out. It’s not a bad idea to grab the first few backpack upgrades when first available as that gets full very quickly. Seeing as there’s not an overwhelming number of things to spend your hard-earned in-game money on, it’s a good idea to return to Brighthoof after every mission or so to cash out and spend big on new SDUs.

Once the backpack is sufficiently upgraded, players should prioritize ammo SDUs for the weapons they use most frequently. For example, if you’ve got a close-combat build, spend your money on SMG and Shotgun ammo SDUs over Snipers.
