Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated video games of 2020. Unfortunately, it had a troubled development cycle as it continued to find delays even after the developers hit the gold status. Then things didn’t get much better after it was finally released. When we got our hands on the game, it was filled with bugs and technical issues. Some platforms were completely unplayable. That made the developers postpone several planned features, including expansions.
Instead of delivering new content, a long line of updates was being worked on to deliver an experience the developers initially planned for. With that said, the last major update came in September of last year. We knew that there weren’t any plans to bring out another update until 2022. Now that we’re into the year, it looks like the developers are already starting to work on that next update release.
It was discovered that CD Projekt Red had been working on the game update and preparing its release. This came from an update on SteamDB, which shows that the game was updated, but the update itself wasn’t available for the public. So instead, this update is something that the developers were working on for the game. Likely, developers are testing the build out before officially releasing it into the marketplace. Unfortunately, we don’t know just what this update will entail.
This update is bound to bring out some notable fixes to ensure the game runs better than ever. However, you might also find that the game will include some more free DLC. That’s purely speculation. We started to see CD Projekt Red deliver free DLC already. This came in the form of a new vehicle, clothes, and a new design for Johnny Silverhand. All we can do is wait for the official reveal and patch notes to come out to see what has been changed or adjusted with the game.
